Re: Great first prize, SFA for second ...?
It is nice if venues put up a prize, especially for second and third.
I finished second at Payneham, outgunned by a monster stack, but battled grimly for 15 minutes until the blinds got me.
I felt a bit disappointed that I had come so close to 1st place, and the venue is kind enough to put up $100 cash, which is a real bonus, but then I asked if there was a prize for second?
Maybe a food voucher, box of beer, bottle of wine or even a free drink- NOTHING. And they have between 70 - 100 runners.
Sunday at the Tea Tree Gully Hotel the 2nd place getter got a $25 voucher- spend it anywhere but the pokies, PLUS a box of beer, PLUS a bottle of wine. And they only have 35 runners.
The Tea Tree also has great meals at dirt cheap prices- front bar, cheap stamp ups, best looking barmaids and TIM (TD). Absolutely creams Roulettes.
1st prize is a $100 voucher PLUS a bottle of wine.
