benny the cunt, no1 went to the pubs here either unless it was already a nice place for a meal (read: family outings) or they're pokie gamblors (and you make me sick the lot of you) or TAB freaks.
IMHO the NPL has played a huge part in bringing ppl back to the pubs.
Now if they could just work on forming some sort of oxygen licencing authority that'd be brilliant!

hahhahahahahahahaha the more stamps a venue are willing to do the more people hear of this and more people turn up based on cheap stamp policies i have seen it happen, so if the venue wishes 2 give out however many stamps they r workin based on the fact that people will drink cos they r happier.

Re: Stamping up
It's basically up to the venue themselves to find a happy medium between stamping generously and encouraging maximum spending from its patrons. Which ever way attracts the most revenue for them will be the way they will go.
However, in saying that, if it comes down to something like 40c it should be common sense to bend the rules and keep the paying customer happy so that they come back the week after for the same service.

Agree 100% Matty
As soon as the venues realise that looking after the punters, the punters will spend more even after carding up.
Most do come back plus they spread the word.
Thats how we landed at one of the venues we swear by
The venues that dont look after the punters and concentrate on just profits will lose patronage and eventually close as some already have

Re: Stamping up
I saw this happen again yesterday at The Emu.
A patron who spends more than enough for beer had to spend another $1 to get the last stamp.
Only this time he has gone to management to ensure they know that he will no longer be a player at this venue after this season.
They deserve to lose patrons if they are no going to respect us.
The frustrating thing is that we will lose out because we choose to make a stand.
What ever happened to "the customer is always right"

Re: Stamping up
dollars for stamps NEVER works in my opinion, because it always rips off the customer into buying another drink.
vote with your feet everyone - go to the places that want your patronage

I remember, in Season 1 2007, I was at a venue that had:
$0 - $5 = 1 stamp
$5 - $8 = 2 stamps
$8 + = 3 stamps.
I bought a pint of Pale for $5.10 and she gave me one stamp. I said "sorry, that's 2 stamps". and she gave me attitude going "But you only paid $5.10" and I said "Yeah, so that's 2 stamps"... she argued this for about 1 1/2 minutes, snatched my card and stamped it again..
About 2 weeks later, they changed it to drink numbers/stamps.
I don't play there anymore.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

Re: Stamping up
I hear you Bacon. That's why I only "SUPPORT" clubs now.
They unlike hotels seem to realise there is a market there and so I have payed my fees and become a member.
Para hills and Parafield Gardens have great meals and The Parafield Flying Club although it's a small club they have a great atmosphere.
They are always trying to offer something different and are bending over backwards to encourage us punters to enjoy a snag or steak sanwich with a drink that is realistically priced and their stamping system is great.
Well done Guys and Gal (Liz) keep it up.
