bad beat

Postby Tommo » Mon May 05, 2008 5:00 pm

i laid down a bad beat last night at the Willaston...
blinds 500/1000
got dealt [as] [js] i raised 2000....
BB called
Flop Came [4c] [4h] [6s]
BB checks i go all in on a total bluff expecting her to fold.
i almost cried when she started reaching for chips.
BB calls she turns over [4d] [7d]
Turn [3s]
River [10s]

I felt pretty bad, anyway that set me up ended finishing 4th
Interior Crocodile Alligator.

You think that's bad, cop this one

I was in Melbourne to watch some of the Aussie Millions (bless the Australian Tennis Open =o) )

A $10,500 seat tournament mind you

Pre-flop there was a bit of action raising calling, re-raising and one caller - all others folded.

Flop comes x J x.

First to act goes all in, second person thinks about it for about 2 milliseconds and calls.

** sorry details a bit sketchy coz months ago now**

cards are tabled

Player one has pocket jacks for trips on the flop. Pretty unbeatable you would think.

Player two has nothing at all, needs runner runner to make anything....

the inevitable happened, hits runner runner straight!!.... WTF??

makes you feel better that you didn't pay $10,500 for your weekly seat huh!!

Ouch.

No fault of your own though, you played it perfectly. Just one of those flops :P

Edit: Actually, after thinking about it, its not really a bad beat. He had you beat all the way. Still harsh though, but not really a "bad beat."

Not a bad beat at all, money went into the pot when Caroline was a mile behind, and she stayed there.

maybe you could have raised to 3 or 4 times the BB? would the other player have folded 55 then?

but in any case, thats just plain unlucky - no bad beat, u were smashed right from the start :P
