Always good to crack that first win, it 's a validation as well.

Re: I WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Garth, Rcon.
I really appreciate that...
I can't wipe the smile from my face yet...
Maybe we should start a thread about our first wins...

If you're anything like me, you'll have lots of trouble sleeping tonight.
I actually knocked Garth out at the final table on the way to my first win. If was the first night my local ran an NPL event, so that was pretty cool in and of itself, but when xtal informed me who Garth was (I knew the name, not the face) that gave me even more of a buzz!
Even tho I only played with him for like 10-20 minute, his play taught me LOTS. Very special win it was.
But enough about my win, this was about your win
How many runners?
Any special hands that you killed people with?
Were you short stacked?

Aww Rcon thanks heaps, but I love to hear about others wins as well, because each and everyone is so amazing to hear about for so many reasons.
Your first win is fantastic, it always seems to mean something when you knock out someone that really does know how to play properly.
My win was I had $10,000 in position 2 on final table.
it kinda went from there.
I am not sure how many played, I think it was 32ish?? Suzi will know.. lol
To be honest the whole thing is a blurr because I was honestly panic stricken the whole time.. lol
I don't often get nervous but this time I was.
The only hand I remember doing really well with is pocket Aces which my card protector has on it.. lol
I guess just sticking to my game and doing it the way I want made a difference rather than listening to everyone around me like I normally do.
Again this is advice I picked up from reading and looking around the forums. This is advice not many other that you talk with on a face to face basis say.
But please everyone tell your stories, I really want to hear them...
And thankyou for all your support..........

Re: I WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! Congrats!
I love that you listened to advice from the forum and adapted it into your game, that's awesome! Well done.
If you wanna hear about everyone else's first win, I'll share mine.
The Kingsford, Thursday night. 64 runners.
I make it to the final table with $13,000, draw the 7, and am given pocket Aces first hand. Yeah, what the hell.
I push all in, get a few callers. Vs pocket 10s and A 3, my Aces hold up. That gives me a nice stack (40,000 ish). 7 left.
After that, I folded down (I think, I can't remember) until there's 3 left. I am the major chip leader. Dealt QJ off in the big blind. #1 and SB call, I check.
Flop: Q J 4. I bet 20,000 (minimum). My best friend (JD) moves all in for 30,000, SB (Russel Minnet, a gun player) calls (15,000), as do I.
JD turns over Q 9, I forget what Russel had (a J, maybe?). Anyway, my two pair on the flop held up, and with that, I had my first win.
So long ago, I think it was season 2, 2007. I remember my 2nd and 3rd wins much more clearly, and that's sad, really, I should remember my 1st one.
Anyway, congrats Caroline!
