"Career" Leaderboard for State

Postby Todd Rivers » Sun May 11, 2008 9:21 am

Do you think there should be a career leaderboard on the website?
How would it be ranked?
Most wins?
Average (total of ALL games)

It could also state how many games you've played, how many times you've made it to the points, how many final tables, and perhaps a pecentage ranking for each category.

eg. 200 games- 10 wins (5%)
50 final tables (25%)
100 times in points (50%)

I was just checking the stats for my region, and the man leading the pack here is Ian Howarth.

Stats: 175 games played
11 wins (6% win ratio)
73 final tables (41%)
104 in points (59%)

Can anyone top his % in points for over 100 games played?
Or even his final table ratio?

It's a great idea and one that has been brought up, albeit briefly, before.

Something similar to the Official Poker Rankings website, but tailored to suit the NPL, would be brilliant IMO.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

That is a great idea.
Who would be responsible and would it be a season to season thing?
I personally would find it really interesting.

Maybe there could be a player write up about them also?

I would love to see some of the players... etc..

all of the stats are already there in the database, the famous IT guy would just have to write some new queries to generate these leaderboards - would be pretty simple IMO

what would be good: when you click on a player, have these stats. played, total points, wins, point percentage, win percentage (maybe final table etc etc)

then a leaderboard could be generated - pretty easy to make this full leaderboard, regional leaderboard or even venue based.

click on the headings and this sorts by average, or total wins or whatever.

this would be really cool

I agree in all content proposed by Todd having public access to NPLSA ranking of its players would be as bennymacca quotes ' neat' .

I love stats and averages of games /seasons played and look forward to playing Ian @ the Deep Stack in Berri as his and my %'s as calculated compare very favourably .

Any leaderboard stats be it -- State/ Region/ Venue has my full support especially as we now have nearly a twelve month period of available data.

GR8 proposal Todd !!!

I agree that this would be an interesting and useful addition to the site.

I agree with everyone else agreeing that this would be a good addition to the NPL website (along with the 30 other things we've suggested ;) )

yup - great idea.

I still wanna see the idea I suggested last year tho - player tracking so you can group your mates together. This is probably because there is no hope of me ever making a career leaderbard for state!

Hey Todd!

Im doing alright this season. Of the 14 games I have played,

8 Final Tables (2 wins)
2 Points Finishes
4 DNPs (really only 3 as i was registered in an event i did not play)

All i have to do now is play 86 more games!

This idea has already been mulled over in "So who are the BEST players?" topic I believe. Definately support the idea, though since the original topic my win ratio has dropped from 1 in 10 to one in 14...
Check out my ample flop....
