Boss260 wrote:-Nothing wrong with prepaid drinks so people can be stamped and manage how much they drink, instead of getting there late aand having to slam down half a dozen or so, we dont want to promote drink driving
-If a venue wants to fully stamp someone for one drink its up to them i think, cause thats lost revenue for them, but on the other hand whats wrong with a venue looking after there regulars, players that may have played every week for the last 6 months, some venues have 2 or more games a week, so if some people are being rewarded because they have supported there venue then i dont have a problem with this

so what if people are regulars? if they are regulars that only buy a couple of drinks why would management care?

I agree with Ron, I don't really have a problem with it either way.

Before assuming the worst look into it a bit more. I know some venues that will stamp players up at the beginning of the night, but these players are the ones that always stay late and purchase drinks throughout the night, right up until the call for last drinks. The managers at these pubs have told their staff to look after these particular players because of the patronage they give the venue.

What if a new player enters a venue and see's someone get a full card for just 1 drink, and this new player only gets 1 stamp.

I doubt they'll end up going back there because as a new player they arent getting good service compared to others.

I think venues can do other things for their regular players such as maybe having end of season draws for people who play 7/8 out of the 10 games or something.

wow we AGREE on something des - well said.... lol :D

I'm with you there Shannon - I get stamped up on first purchase at one venue I play at, yet I'll buy AT LEAST that much over the bar in an evening. It allows me to not slam down my drinks, and as I'm a regular, purchasing from staff that know I frequent week in, week out and drink up, week in, week out, the venue knows it is getting value. On the odd occasion when I haven't been stamped up by a new staff there or something, I've STILL GOTTEN FAIR STAMPS.

I can understand why some people might feel a little funny if they see it, however it is open to anyone to ask how many stamps they will recieve for a drink before purchasing it.

If the venue wants to risk alienating(where is my firefox for speelin - stupid training computers!) players, it is their look out. The VENUE PAYS NPL, so they can do as they wish with the stamps.

My $0.02 worth anyway.
