Is it time for poker players to agree to avoid some venues

It amazes me how many venues do not support poker or poker players. Every player comes willing to buy drinks and many also have a meal. But some venues are unscrupulous and try to rip off players by refusing to stamp their cards or by being really stingy!! Is it time for some venues to be banned by players????

There's definitely a few venues on my list that get the raised middle finger.

some of them have recently changed their stamps policy though, so that's not so bad.

I suggest if you let them have it long enough and loud enough they might change their wicked ways, otherwise tell em to get stuffed and play somewhere where you're appreciated by the management.

Pooraka FC and Studio89 (which is a nice sunday arvo/evening double header) are by far the two best that I've come across for this, can't recommend them highly enough.

I agree, some venues are very unfriendly regarding stamps, i also agree with BigPete pooraka fc & studio 89 would have to be the best by far
In my opinion all players should boycott Roullettes, Payneham Tavern & the Settlers till they learn to look after there patrons a little betta
You can play sunday afternoons & evening with out having to go to roullettes

Tried the Midway last Wednesday for something different as the Modbury gets a little packed.

1 stamp for a James Boags @ the Midway or anything bar Boubon vs 3 stamps for a James Boags @ the Modbury.

Must say the TD @ the Midway was excellent though !!!

If the modbury wasn't so cramped for room for the poker, it would be a great venue! They're another venue that has got the stamp distribution spot on. It's just the lack of room that kills it.

But hey, if a venue will not listen to the patrons that are arriving and paying up their cash for some drinks & food and getting jipped, then perhaps when they start to get less numbers they'll know why. Sure they are also trying to turn a few extra dollars, but they do need to learn to at least follow the 'standard'.

there's not even an official standard as such....people just have a pretty keen sense of when they're being ripped off.

Here's an example...

Tower Hotel is 4 whole dollars per stamp. That and the service is absolutely disgraceful.

You guys need to come up here to the country. I fill both cards for $15.20 total every week.

I must agree with you there jamie, when you told me about that situation i was amazed, if they get enough people telling a place that it is silly then maybe they will listen. pub needs to understand the price and type of the drinks when determining there stamping systems. if a beer costs as much as a spirit then they should be entitled to the same amount of stamps.

good to see that you enjoyed the midway and the TD as a change from modbury, except for the stamping system.
