It could still be that you are holding KA KK KQ KJ KT but not K9 BECAUSE IT'S A CRAP HAND and dilli's a better player than that ;)(sorry, bit of a rant there) so it might be better just to call with my KQ and see where I stand later on rather than push back and find out the hard way.

Also, if you have flopped the nuts... you're so check/calling are you not? If I'm not mistaken you were check/called... he could still have a whole range of hands that are better than your K 9... he did after all call your pre-flop raise.

I know at the time, i didnt know what he coulda had, which is y i kept raising 2 c if he was good...i might of not known what he had, but he sure did...he had 3 4...calling with them nuts, there is just something wrong

Shaun,
Don't ever play at a table with me.
When I play poker it's 30% about the cards, 70% about my read on my opponent.
Asked RCON he saw me make a few reads the other night. And if I can read someone as playing for a gutshot and hitting it on the river I can definitely tell, with some accuracy, when someone is strong and when they are not.

And if I read you as weak then I am shoving, as long as I have outs I am happy.

Yup. First time I played with Garth was an education. Was probably only 3 orbits of the table with him. But it was enough :D I won so it was all good, but I had to wake up to the fact that a raise really only meant he didn't think I was strong. Once his chips were in, I couldn't very easily call without something strong. And his reads were not wrong! Even in the end, it was 55(me) against KQ or something similar.

I can't remember whose signature it is, "its not how you play the cards, but how you play the people around you". Very descriptive of what I have seen of Garth.

try this for a call

Final table -- A venue leader SB first hand smallish chip stack ... Goes All in has two callers AJ and QK

all hands shown Matty Norwood dealing

10 hits X , X flopped , turn card = 5 dramatic dealing by Matty last card rivers a 2.

Allin wins as he was holding 7,2

Alistair Hunt goes on to take top three prize monies Ahh suppose thats why he's a venue leader - Good player ? , Lucky?, Aggressive ? Had a read on the others ??

I know it probably hit before but first hand final table first game of a new season :o

By the way don't think I am having a go here.

Now I don't know whether your opponent had the same thoughts flow through your head, but I would just like to point out that sometimes poker is about: MAKING THE WRONG PLAYS AT THE RIGHT TIME. Every poker pro makes plays like that listed above and gets lucky now and again. Just the way it is.

A lot of people when I play think I am just mucking around, sometimes I am, but there are reasons for why I called your Cowboys down with that hand. I wanted to see how you would play a strong hand to the river and if I can push you off them and also whether my read was right.

There is so much more I could discuss about plays and the beauties of a rebuy addon system but I won;t.

I can tell you right now, no. I know Dan, he plays very loose. Before Shaun sat down at the table I watched a few hands and Dan was calling EVERYTHING. He called a 2x BB preflop raise with Q8 off (3 callers before him) and flopped a straight.

There is no way in hell that Dan went to all that trouble to calculate all those odds throughout the hand. Ok, maybe he didn't put Shaun on much, but there was no way he went into THAT much detail.

Calling on the flop, after hitting nothing, was just insane - no matter what you think Shaun is holding, he has to be beating your 4 high. Calling the preflop raise? I personally wouldn't, but I can see it happening. Dan had no outs on the flop, no flush or straight draws. He had to hit a 3 or a 4, and funnily enough, he hit both.

Garth: I would love to watch you play sometime, you should come down to the Kingsford one night.
