I can tell you right now, no. I know Dan, he plays very loose. Before Shaun sat down at the table I watched a few hands and Dan was calling EVERYTHING. He called a 2x BB preflop raise with Q8 off (3 callers before him) and flopped a straight.

There is no way in hell that Dan went to all that trouble to calculate all those odds throughout the hand. Ok, maybe he didn't put Shaun on much, but there was no way he went into THAT much detail.

Calling on the flop, after hitting nothing, was just insane - no matter what you think Shaun is holding, he has to be beating your 4 high. Calling the preflop raise? I personally wouldn't, but I can see it happening. Dan had no outs on the flop, no flush or straight draws. He had to hit a 3 or a 4, and funnily enough, he hit both.

Garth: I would love to watch you play sometime, you should come down to the Kingsford one night.

He might not of put me on much...but on the flop...anything was better...only hands worse at that time was 2 3 or 2 4...hmmm and im gonna raise with them so close to final table why? lol

I wasn't "backing" the other play, but your post suggested that you couldn't think of any reason for his play.

Who knows what he was thinking - I certainly don't, nor do I think I would have played it the same. That doesn't mean there was no legit possibilities.

I'm not arguing that you copped a beat nor that you played the hand incorrectly.

But I'm sure there are many people out there who have copped beats and thought "What the hell was my opponent thinking or even doing in that hand with that crap?"

I tried to express a reason as to why, and that although the player might not have been in the hand for the reasons I listed. But also the thought process that goes into a hand.

Sorry if I offended you Shaun, but I think you will find that not "everyone" is backing the player with 3,4.

And Aaron I will come up there and play one day before I leave, but I don't really take NPL tournaments as seriously as I should.

U didnt offend me Garth or anything...Seems tho that people are kinda giving him reasons on y he played his hand which is just...eh...and that i played my hand wrong even tho it was the best hand till the river which 3 4 should not of even seen considering his situation, i played it agressively that should of worked against any real poker player cept some DOKENY's

I think this is a bit of a stretch. "real poker players" might have all sorts of tricks in their bag. I don't know if he did, but doesn't mean its not possible. As Garth said, what if he'd pushed all in when an A fell?

HA! I had my AA cracked whilst short stacked on the small blind. It was my 2nd 17th spot for the evening. Got all my chips in preflop, 2 callers and K6 rivered a K for 2 pair. You'd think I deserved to win that hand, but best hand/best play doesn't always win - why else would we play?

All in preflop, eh its not like the way i played my K 9...and least u were against a picture card...not like u got called with 3 4 and he like called ur short stacked all in on the flop when he hit nothing
