Still not sure I understand the ruling as to why you can't do that. I don't get how that isn't just part of the bluffing game?
Say for example if QQ9 is on the table and you want to bluff and say you have a Q in your hand, but the other player who says nothing has QQ in their hand?
Wouldn't that just show you up as being a shocking bluffer?
What he means is ... you can say what you don't or do have at ANY STAGE during a hand.
A showdown is when betting has completed after the river, and cards are shown to see who wins - so there's not more betting - you either win or you don't.
You can't say "I have four of a kind" when you don't, so that the person you are against folds, thinking they have lost. You then show nothing at all.
