welcome matt!!!!

i think the palais will get to at least 100 runners within the next 2 weeks.. and from there it can only get better.

And moving upstairs, more tables, more room, overlooking the ocean, warm weather... going to be a pretty good night!

Hey guys guess who!

Anyways I just gotta say that I am pleased that the Palais is bringin in the numbers. Even before I became a tournament director I always enjoyed playin there and knew it had awsome potential to become one of the leading venues in SA. Alot of people are talking and its definately stirring interest with the cash prizes on offer. Matt I told you we will eventually get there! I mean playin poker in a fantastic venue right on the beach? who can say no! I applaud your determination in getting the venue growing stronger and your definately on the right track buddy. Good work to the Palais crew all round! With the numbers building I might be there to team up with Alex so I hope to see u soon!

Thanks Andre! And it's great news that you'll be back here with Alex too. Dream Team. Also, we had a delivery today of 5 tables so that brings our capacity to 100. So bring it on guys! Confirmation on Monthly prizes today also...probably going to be $200.00 for monthly leaders and $600.00 for end of season winner. $1000.00 all up. Plus the weekly prize. See you all here soon!

Do venues have all the tables in storage? Is that how it works?

Yeh the NPL drops off tables at venues and they keep them there. Would be too hard for a TD to haul them all over the place.

Ah cool. I never really thought about it!

Man that's a lot of tables.

Can I have one?

WOW

Its fantastic a venue has the incentive to put up decent prizes and bonuses to reward the punters and reward their patronage
Pity some of the tight arse northern venues who just want to take take take dont follow your lead
Unfortunately im committed on a tuesday for this season so far, but ill be watching carefully and could be there with bells on next season

Keep up the good work

Well, I have to say...I'm impressed.

After visiting the Palais I am happy to report that all the nice things that have been mentioned are completely true.

As suspected, Alex is indeed an exceptional TD and not to mention from the very moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome and this continued throughout the night.

Happy hours are indeed in abundance and imperial pints of TED's were $5. They are also the only type of pint glasses that they have (you beautyyyy).

I had the opportunity to have a chin-wag with palaismatt and he is indeed a first class guy who is sincerely dedicated to making it a fun and rewarding experience for everyone. He obviously understands what it's all about and it wouldn't do any venue harm to follow his example. A most sincere 'well done' Matt.

Here's some piccies from the night I attended...I think Des has some more somewhere too.
