WHAT HAS NPL DONE FOR YOU!

Postby Sean O'Hare » Sun Jun 22, 2008 10:33 pm

Hi all,
OK had a very weird discussion with a few players after a tournament this week and thought that it would be good to see if anyone else has a good story like this,

Short version- (player to remain anonymous)

one of my players said to me that they had to thank me for convincing them to play one night they where out for dinner and i approached them to play, this player is a very quite person, its been about ten months they have been playing for, anyway they had previously been stuck in their house for fear of lets say people, and they now regularly play a couple of events each week, and have met so many new people which has given the a new lease on life. and has also met a new partner and are the happiest they have ever been.

Now this gave me a smile to see that NPL is doing so much more than just providing the best PUB POKER TOURNAMENTS in Australia (if not the world)

But are there anymore stories like this out their????????

Small note- NO HIJACKING.

Have a few from Victoria.

Still waiting for the first poker marriage to happen though, think NSW is in the lead on that one. :-).

Sean, that is seriously completely awesome. Hands down, best story to come out of NPL, ever. Its great that NPL gave that person the confidence to get out more. Awesome, so awesome.

What has NPL done for me? Hmm...

- Introduced me to a great range of characters, and I've made a LOT of new friends. Even starting to extend that friendship beyond the weekly poker game, now.
- Gave me something to do during the week.
- Got me a (albeit, temp) job.

Uhh.. that's all I can think of for now. Yet to meet the poker-loving wife, but there's still hope :P

Well....

I met my girl at one of the events i ran (i gave her like 8 passports told her they all had to be filled) after that is was easy!

No, not at all... I met Emily through my work with the NPL and have moved interstate with the company. I love my work and all the people in my life i have met through this organization.

this is all well and good, but come on. This should be moved to the makes me sick thread.

How much more praise do you want to give yourselves.
Next it will be NPl cures cancer and NPL for Prime Minister.

Dug,

If you dont like a thread, dont post in it. Try looking on the brighter side of life for once instead of being so negative.

Meanwhile, back on topic.

NPL for me has introduced me to a lot of great people who I wouldn't have met otherwise, and I'm happy to call them my close friends.
