i use http://www.torrentz.com

this basically provides a link to all of the sites that have the torrent. so after u search in torrentz.com, u click on the mininova and actually download the torrent from there.

the advantage is that it picks up the trackers from other sites

I used to love, when there were no writer's strikes or show breaks, setting the half dozen or so shows I watched downloading on a Friday night(as they all seemed to air on Thursdays in the US), heading out, then sitting back on Saturday arvo and watching them all whilst I recovered from the night before
