I can't believe you didn't call. You were already in for 800, it was only 500 more. You had huge odds.

But you did (stupidly :D) think he had a 5, and if that was the case you were drawing dead.

calling would have left me with 1000 left, so it was too much.

at that stage, i thought my ace high was good, because because it was checked around to then

and if you are talking about odds kleemann

there was 3 players in the hand, calling for 400 preflop, plus my 800 bet, and bobs 1300 all in raise. this makes 3300 in the pot, and 500 more for me to call, or 6.5:1

possible hands had him on trip 5s, or 10 rag (which is why he checked the flop).

if this is the case, then i need to hit my A on the river to at least have a hope of winning the pot. 3 more outs in the deck, gives approximately a 6.8% (3/44) chance of spiking an ace on the river, or approx 14:1 odds.

so there was NOT odds to call, assuming he had a 10 and not a 5 (or nothing, in which case there would have definitely been odds)

probably the right move would have been to go all in instead of betting 800 - that way bob would have had to call for his tournament life.

and yes bob, i do like odds. calculating them in my head is something i always try to do while i am at the table, especially when i am chasing straights or flushes.

As I said I did have a 10 for two pair and I was really hoping you were doing the maths M8. ;) I did the pot odds and put you on at least one high card but nothing other than what was on the table. :)

So, after checking and then going over the top of your raise I was hoping you'd suspect me trying to slow play the nuts even though I thought my 2 pair were good at the time. :?

It's a shame that someone else didn't do the correct maths or even stopped to think of playing poor cards into a $1,600 ALLIN bet before the flop. But then again they assume lady luck is all that is needed to play NLHP. 8-)

I guess that's why we like playing the game so much. It doesn't really matter how good you play once the chips are in the pot preflop your in the lap of the poker gods and a little bit of luck certainly helps. 8-)
