Entering tournaments after 1st break?

Postby Manth » Tue Dec 18, 2007 12:14 pm

Just wondering if the TD is allowed to put players in that work at the NPL venues after the 1st break?

I understand that you need to support the venues that support NPL but i think it's a little unfair when these players come in and get both their cards chipped up they quite often have more chips than others players that have been there all night.

A few people have complained about it but we have been told that it is allowed. Is this true?

Yes it is allowed. We all spend our dollars at venues the same as everyone else, why shouldn't off duty staff be allowed the same chances as other players? We have already given up any claim for prizes or points.
What should happen though is if a staff member does get drawn out another draw will be added so there are still 3 or 5 non staff players being drawn out.
And please don't say that they're are getting their chips redeemed without spending, I can't handle another scenario like this this week.

Sorry maybe i didn't word that quite right, i didn't mean NPL Staff were being put into the tournaments, i understand they don't get points, prizes ect. I was meaning the staff that work the bar, dining ect, who when they win do get points & prizes.

Are they working at the time this tournament is conducted or are they off duty? This is perplexing.
If they are working then I would suggest that maybe we discuss it with this venues manager. Again there are no issues if the staff member is spending over the bar, but it is a problem if they are getting stamped up for free, it definitely would put other player's noses out of joint, understandably.

Can I hijack this and clarify something.

1. Can any player be entered into the tournament after the end of the first blind period? This thread is talking about entering after the first break and surely that is not on anyway.

2. Can NPL Staff be entered into the tournament after the end of the first blind period? I know that they do not get points, prizes, etc. but they can still affect the outcome of the game, especially at the business end of the season.

I am not so concerned about being stamped up though - even if it is not the bar staff, there will be people who know the venue staff and gets stamped up anyway. That is unavoidable. I think what would put noses out of joint is coming into the tournament late AND stamped up - that probably is going too far.
