Can't wait to see this film. Was reading Kevin Smith's blog the other day and he talks briefly about it after a preview screening;
"Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, that’s not an overstatement). It’s the “Godfather II” of comic book films and three times more earnest than “Batman Begins” (and ****, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn’t so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I’m not the first to suggest this, but he’ll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. ****ing flick’s nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece."
Anyone else eagerly awaiting this?

Got a spare ticket, Matty?
I watch so many films it's not funny (because of my job), but hardly ever go the cinema anymore. This, however, will be one of the 2 or 3 films I will get myself to the cinema for this year.

Some films need to be viewed on the big screen to fully appreciate it - i reckon this movie is one of them. I'm looking forward to seeing it. And hey, if Kevin Smith reckons it's good, then there's another bonus point towards seeing it!

You make it sound like Marion is soooo far away. It's not a packed lunch trip.
I used to live straight across the road from Marion. It was great... Used to ride a trolley home Saturday nights from Shennanigans

Re: The Dark Knight
Its a good half hour from where I am, which isn't exactly a packed lunch, makes from sub 90 min movies not really worth the trip.
And since the giver of the gold passes also saw fit to provide vouchers for the purchase of drinks/food, we wanted to make a night of it. American Gangster was high on our list, but we sort of missed it.
You Kentishing tonight Bacon?
