State finals - Season 3 2008 qualification
So we are two weeks away (or one week for last night's venues) from the end of the current season. Who's already locked in? Who is teetering on the edge? Who needs player X to finish higher at venue Y as long as player Q doesn't point at venue Z? Post your state finals qualification scenarios here.

Re: State finals - Season 3 2008 qualification
2 weeks to go, im 8 points out of the top 5 at the Waikerie Club.
However the normall tuesday game being moved to a monday for the last week (for the Tanunda trip) may actually help me as i believe one or more of the top 5 may not be able to play on that monday night.
Sucks..........(for them)

Re: State finals - Season 3 2008 qualification
Looking better than last week when I was sitting 6th, I'm sitting 3rd at the Alma with 1 week to go. Last night I drew the Ace at the final table, with only 1xBB=10k, and folded every hand (until I was all-in blind) on my way to 5th place, which meant I just jumped ahead of the guy who's in 4th place now. My equation is fairly simple, I just need to finish points next week, or hope that 2 or more people don't make points that are within striking distance. Even if 2 people jump me, there's potential state top 50 players that will hopefully earn there spot and be removed from the leaderboard

Re: State finals - Season 3 2008 qualification
qualified after week 5 when the willo shut down on sundays
had a season average of 33 then across 2 venues, and i was also sitting 1st at the kinger friday, but since then, i have basically been playing for a laugh, and my results have suffered - season average has dropped 9 points, but its been fun.
but yes, already qualified, looking forward to states already

Re: State finals - Season 3 2008 qualification
I'm currently 5th at Highlander
Place Player Name Points Played Avg Points Wins
1 Sue Edmonds 209.70 8 26.21 1
2 Peter Stoj 196.70 8 24.59 1
3 Audrey Bewlex 194.35 7 27.76
4 Max Banfield 176.85 7 25.26
5 Marc Lissner 164.45 7 23.49
6 Michael Stones 151.75 5 30.35 1
7 Stephen Bewlex 148.65 7 21.24
8 Luke Hitches 136.75 6 22.79 1
9 Peter Maywald 136.40 8 17.05
10 Thomas Turner 135.15 6 22.53
11 Jarrod Turner 132.60 6 22.10
Sue, Peter & Max only play here. Audrey is 5th at Brahma Lodge, a big finish there could pull her off this l/board.
Michael has placed 4/5 (last 4 too), so he's in form, and he's also 6th at Athelstone... Please let him finish higher there
There's a chance I can't play this Sunday, so I'll know more about my needs next week.
I really should make it, the Top 5 haven't changed in a while.

Re: State finals - Season 3 2008 qualification
Well after grinding it for a few weeks, I am currently sitting 3rd at the Cavan, only 0.8 from Sou in Second.
I believe that if I point in the last week, I should be ok....

3rd at ballroom (finished)
mid teens on state leaderboard.
Would rather qual thru top 50 for the late flight, but don't really know if I can be bothered chasing points over the next week. We'll see

yeah, well as I said above, i dunno if i'm playing this week. I'm a bit gutted really.
Especially after getting my 3rd 2nd place this season, I'm in great form.
I'll just beat my mates tonight instead.
