I think i commited the worst move in the history of poker last night
I am pretty angry with myself and figure some self punishment in the form of my fellow forum members berating me to death may do the trick.
Finished 3rd at waikerie last night, went all in on a bluff with 7 2 and of course got called
Clever wasnt it.
I was small blind ( blinds 5k 10k) sitting 3rd on around 30k but not by much
button folds i call hoping for something
flop j 4 6
bb checks and i decide ( or mabey it was the beers and the thought of bluffing with 7 2 in front of a large galery of mates that decided) to bluff going all in
of course bb calls with K Q , (only leaving her with 5k though)
turn and river nothing and i look the right goose
so go ahead have your fun at my expense
here is a great opportunity to pay me out.

I assume I'm reading it wrong, but how did the BB act first after the flop?

by george your right
I couldnt quite remember if i was small or big blind ( those dam beers)
I would suggest that that made me big blind
hence why i was playing 7 2 in the first place.

Re: here is a great opportunity to pay me out.
but u got called down with nothing!
my philosophy is if people wanna win a pot off me, they better be prepared to pay for it.
of course that means, i get busted out too often because people call me down like they did to you, but i reckon i win a lot of pots by playing agressive.
the skill is to pick the people that u know are capable of laying a hand down, and avoid the beginners/calling stations

Re: here is a great opportunity to pay me out.
you are right benny the cunt
I honestley thought there was an oppourtunity to steel that pot,
it wasnt as if i looked down and saw 7 2 and said right time to bluff for the sake of it,
i picked my mark and it failed,
i was supprised that she called and that she called with nothing, it was my decison to represent a pair of jacks with the bluff, but in the end it was a lucky/ good call, she went on to win the night.
Still havent won a tourney, have came 2nd and 3rd about 5 times now.
Probably the thing that hurts the most is that the chick that won was a English back packer that wont take up her seat at the satelite so that goes to second spot, so in theory there was 2 chances to get a satelite seat but i didnt realise untill after.

No it doesn't. It can only be transferred if they win more than 4 tickets over the whole promotion. If she can't make it, stiff.
- Qualifiers may not transfer from one satellite to another, nor may they transfer their qualification to another player.
If you win 3 tickets, but 1 in Week 1 & 2 in Week 3, NPL can move you to Flight 2/4 at their discretion. The 2nd ticket from Week 3 doesn't automatically go to someone else.
But if you win 5 tickets (1,1,2,1 for example), then the 2nd ticket from Week 3 is transferred. To whom, I don't know.
- In the event that a player qualifies more than once for the same satellite, NPL can transfer the player to the satellite of its discretion. If a player wins more than four tournaments during this promotion, second place from an additional tournament wins will be awarded a satellite seat.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

At least you were aware that you were trying to steal the pot and aren't angry because you got called.

A very important point you make there Ondie. Even if you think there is no way in hell someone should have called you after your wonderful bet, you still can't bitch if they do - just means you need to sell your story better next time.Ondie J wrote:At least you were aware that you were trying to steal the pot and aren't angry because you got called.
