All in blinds

Just wanting some ideas about how to play all in blinds...

Example:

Blinds are $300 - $600

I get pocket Kings and decide to raise to $3,000.
2 places up from me decides to go all-in blind for $6,100 and I was 4 places from the dealer.

What am I supposed to do?
I already committed $3,000, I have excellent pocket cards...

I call and still have over $3,000 left to play with later.

The the board gives
1 Ace, 4 hearts and 1 diamond.

I turn over Kings knowing full well in the back of my mind he has a heart.

He turns over a 10 of spades and a 10 of hearts.
DAMN FLUSH!!!

How can you not be angry about that? I am known as a tight conservative player that only raises with good hands, how can you not be annoyed about the fact this player goes "all in blind - because I have had enough and want to go home".

He is a regular player and apparently a good one, however I have yet to ever see him play well or make good calls (in my opinion).

I can give another example of being burnt the same way and to be honest get absolutely screwed everytime someone does this kind of play.

So if your on a table, do you play against an "all-in blind because I want to go home".. or do you fold?????

Ohhh and I should state that this isn't in regards to those players that are all in blind in the big blind or small blind position.

I am talking about those that just go all in blind with a huge chipstack just for the hell of it.

It depends. There are some hands that you absolutely cannot fold against a player playing like that, and if he sucks out on you that's just unlucky.

But if its the final game of the season, and you need to make points to make states... I could understand players folding good hands... although not as anything as good as KK.

Ouch, but that is poker. Would you really have played the hand much different on the flop - aside from getting most of your chips in there to stop someone from drawing to the flush?

Free poker you'll always get carp like that.... real money poker, you'll still get crap like that (or so I'm told - I don't play real money poker)

I'd play it every time tho The one time you lose, is more than compensated with the 4 times you'll hold up. Kings are supposed to hold up 8 from 10 times against 2 random cards - correct?

How sure are you that they didn't look at their cards? Saying they are all-in blinds and actually doing so are completely different..

Most people wouldn't even notice whether a later position person has looked at their cards or not.

I've seen this play live once before, and amazingly, they had AK... What are the odds of choosing that exact moment to go all-in blind and pick up a monster (or TT).

I feel he was bluffing the blind bit.

I've seen someone put their chips on their cards as they were dealt (they were all in for the BB), and roll over AA before. Whats more, they held up!

Yeah, there's that to consider too, players just lie and say they haven't looked at their cards, when the obviously have.

A good friend did that last week, and lo and behold, turned over pocket Queens

You know, there is nothing in the rules that says that just because you haven't looked means you don't have to turn them over. Most players don't enforce the cards being turned over, but they have no recourse if you insist they are shown.

If they ever say 'I want to go home' call the TD over and tell them there is a dead stack on the table because a player wants to go.

Then tell the person who said it to leave.


Just unlucky there Cazz, only thing you could have done different is go allin preflop but I doubt it would have made any difference.
