COLLINGWOOD star Heath Shaw will play this weekend, despite being charged with driving close to three times over the blood alcohol limit.
Collingwood President Eddie McGuire has just confirmed that Shaw will play in the crucial clash against St Kilda this weekend.
''(The Collingwood Football Club) is embarrassed and absolutely furious,'' McGuire said.
''There is no excuse and we're sick and tired of this behaviour.''
McGuire said Shaw would be fined the maximum amount under club rules - around $10,000.

TWO senior Collingwood players are believed to have been involved in a drink-driving incident on the weekend.
Victoria Police has confirmed two people were in a car which ploughed into several parked cars in Rixon St, East Kew about 11.30pm.
The driver, a 22-year-old from East Kew, is believed to have been served with a penalty notice after he was found to be over the legal blood-alcohol limit.
Penalty notices are served to drivers who record a blood alcohol level of up to .15 - with penalties dependent on the exact amount of alcohol found in the driver's system.
The maximum penalty is 14 month loss of licence.
Collingwood has refused to comment on the claims, but the club has said it will issue a statement later today.
I can't believe they aren't suspending him. They need to set an example.
Look what a suspension did for Steve Johnson.

They will play him, just like they played Didak/Johnson/Tarrant after their indiscretions. And it's a disgrace. Well done Collingwood, well done.

''There is no excuse and we're sick and tired of this behaviour.''
.... just not quite embarrassed, furious or sick and tired enough to suspend him.

Re: Collingwood's drinking culture
I bet if their finals spot wasn't on the line he may well be sitting on the sidelines this week.
I was thinking the exact same thing when I heard the report, it's bad enough having your gun players get injured this time of year let alone them doing something stupid like drink driving and possibly getting suspended by their team.....I guess Heath doesn't have himself in his dream team

Essendon did the right thing with Lovett. If a player isn't towing the line, they aren't playing.
But Pies don't have this mentality. That's why they suck.
