Bad Suck Out and Sweet Revenge

Postby Shannon » Tue Sep 02, 2008 5:52 pm

I was playing a HORSE tourney last night, got down to final 6 runners.

Up to the Hold 'em stage (last hand before next increase to Omaha H/L).

Dealt AJs UTG

I raise folded around to SB who calls, as does BB.

Flop comes rag J rag

Check Check I bet, SB calls and BB folds

Turn rag

SB check, I push him all in, he calls holding Q5s

Hits his gut on the river.

I couldn't believe that he called with nothing to the river, took a whack of my stack. The other four players at the table could not believe it. I was so severly shortstacked that I thought my tourney was completely over then....

I manage to fold all around and out of that blind level without getting knocked out. The table was still outraged. Then I swear the best thing, the other four players ganged up on him and gave me a walk everytime I was in the pot, even on Stud Hi when I am showing a 2 and have to bring in and they are all showing pictures!!

They knocked the donkey out and said that that was better. My cards were over then as I was limping with 625 chips!!

Finished 5th because of that walkover the table gave me!!

Ahhh, chivalry is alive and well in the land of poker :)

LOL Matty.

Pretty interesting story there Shannon, never heard of that before. Good to see it, too :P

How did you go at States, by the way? I never did get to say goodbye.

I was a little shattered, but basically just got outdrawn.

folded round to me in SB K10o so I raise, BB calls.

Flop 8 K 3 I raise all in, BB calls (I actually had him covered by about 2100)

BB = A8o

Yep A on turn.

Was risky pushing all in on flop with top pair ;) , but I was tired and needed to take down a pot to survive table orbits and get some chips.

I survived the next orbit, I am in SB go all in against BB (he gets 200 change, lol)

me 97o vs his 10 4o

He turned the straight with his 4 and that was my tourney

out in 53'ish

was tired, so went home and played HORSE tourney for 6th place finish, so felt better, LOL.

Really enjoyed it, got outplayed in 1 hand where I folded my AKo to AJs (I think too much sometimes) and before the 1st flight stopped play I shoulda called the all in with my AKo vs his JJ. I folded, but should've done it for the massive double up or if I missed, then at least I would not have been the last player to take my seat at the re-combine, LOL.
