Mozllia is across the road from Google. They have lunch together and stuff. Probably fair to assume there'll be a lot of hand holding with whatever either of them come up with.

With the range of plugins/web developer tools Firefox offers, I don't see myself switching over to Chrome any time soon. That said, anything Google is involved with is usually quality (seriously, Google Chat is awesome and I don't know why it never caught on) so it should be a decent alternative.
