No way would I be continuing that hand.
As Scott suggested a weed-out is one likely scenario, especially given the mention of folding to a raise the previous hand. However the table has been consistently folding to my raises and you can bet they're just itching to have a hand that'll suck me in and take a load of chips from me.
Some very unpleasant possibilities on that flop, just not worth it. Save your chips.

Question:
You are playing in a massive multi-table tournament online. There are 55 left of 12,000. Your image is fairly loose-aggressive. You have been stealing frequently and only once have you been played back at. In an earlier hand you raised pre-flop, c-bet, and had to fold to a small raise. The blinds are $10,000/$20,000 with a $2,000 ante. The table has been playing tight so you elect to raise![]()
to $55,000 from middle position. A player on the button calls and everyone else folds. The flop comes

. You c-bet $90,000 and the button min-raises to $180,000. What should you do?
Answer:
Fold. This is the only guy at the table who can bust you. Though you might have seven or so outs, there is no reason to get involved here. Min-raises in these spots are often signs of strength; get out of the way and wait for a better spot.
Poll Results: Fold (44%) Raise (20%) Call (36%)
We've how about links I would like to know I walk the line scrunches line at how the client Lawrence etc. etc.

See, I wouldn't be c-betting here in the first place. Then, he might be trapping me with a check, but if he bets enough, I'll get away with just my starting raise.
I don't think I c-bet enough sometimes, but I wouldn't have here.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

I don't know that 180 is enough there benny the cunt. If he was min raising the previous hand with an up and down, you're only pumping the pot to 700k, giving him ... 3.9:1 on his money. Not really good enough for him to call, but might be tempting. I'd go with 240k.bennymacca wrote:i would lead out for 180K, and if he raises big, fold
And lets face it, what were you really hoping to hit by calling here - your gut shot, or your ace?
240 would still allow you to lay your hand down to an all-in, which is what you're likely to get with trips or a made straight (I would have thought), however it also announces you've hit your A, and may well invite a semi bluff with a draw still.

So check-raise it, as he will invariably throw out a similar bet. Depends on what your line on his hand was on previous actions. Me, I see something like an overpair to the flop at best. I reckon my ace is good here - and betting out with it will probably garner a fold. Check raising it gets me more chips.

Re: Question of the Day - 01/09/08
Admittedly, my first respose was check/raise here - my last post was really reasoning out with benny the cunt - but I'm now leaning toward the bet as you have a reputation for being LAG. This betting of the ace could well be seen in that light, and might induce a call from the draw/over pair to the flop anyway.Scott wrote:So check-raise it, as he will invariably throw out a similar bet.
