Djite has done that before, for Adelaide. VERY frustrating but I'll allow him the "he's still young" excuse.
Looks like Uzbekistan lost to Oman 2-0 which is good news for us. We play the Uzbekistani's on Sept 10 as one of our qualifying games.
Anyone know anything about them?

Their main striker is #5 prostitute in all Uzbekistan.

NED 1 - AUS 2
THAT is fricken awesome. The Netherlands are ranked 4th in the world and we just beat them in their own backyard!
Put your hand up if you love Josh Kennedy! The big fella is our lucky charm I tells ya.

Re: 2010 Football World Cup Qualification
seeing the highlights seems the game should have had at least 3 more goals, some easy ones missed by both teams

Re: 2010 Football World Cup Qualification
Well its half time in the Australia versus Uzbekistan WCQ and the Aussies are up 1-0 due to a superb headed goal by scott chipperfield who replaced david carney for this game at left back.
Is anybody else up for this one? i went to bed early and set the alarm to get up, there is something special about celebrating a goal at 1:30am as quielty as possible so as to not wake up the girlfriend slash neighbourhood (cue Aus v Jap 2006 WC).
It could/should have been 2 nil also as bresciano was clean through just before half time only to blow a clear one on one chance with the keeper and blast his shot wide - would have sealed the game, but we have dominated possession, and aside for a couple of nervous goal-line scrambles we have kept them relatively chanceless.
Suprisingly, Josh Kennedy was relegated to the bench after scoring against the netherlands, replaced by brescianio in the starting line up in a 4-4-2 formation with kewell and holmann up front and bresciano on the left.
GO THE SOCCEROOS!!! Beat these Borat wannabees....

Final result. Autralia 1 Uzbekistan 0
What an amazing result. The Uzbeks came out firing and it was bloody nervous for a while there at the start of the second half, but our defense held firm and we got a crucial 3 points. The first time that Uzbekistan have been beaten at home for 9 years (18 matches). This win could set us up for amaxing things.

Re: 2010 Football World Cup Qualification
any away win is worth its weight in gold. Moreso when it's against the team Pim thinks is our main threat for Top 2. Would qualifying top of the group change anything for wc grouping?
