hmmm, yes....no.....yes....no....maybe....probably.....yes.....no....could be.....not too sure.....

But what the hell, there are two cards to come!!

Its weird, because she was playing well all night. I wouldn't call her a d-word at all, and when she showed the 3 I was a little shocked. The only thing I can think of is that she thought I was making a move, but the button making a move, after 5 players check it to me? Ugh.

I like to read about them all. Not that I've played, or remember playing ALK, but the hair might have made me think you were full of it. :P
Will dance for your chips!

The button making a move after 5 players check into them?

If the button doesn't make a move of any type in that situation they deserve to go to hell and have to play 7 8 suited from UTG for the remainder of their life.

There's chips in them there pots and if noone wants to bet that board then I will see if I can take it down now with a nice half pot bet.

The only time I'm going to check here is when I have flopped a boat or stronger. And only then it would be 35% of the time.

So what I am trying to say is; I don't blame anyone for thinking that the button is trying to take down the pot here.

Calling off your stack with bottom pair isn't the best move but then again if she believes your making a move then it's ok to call.

When bluffing/representing, instead of saying - how can you call me with bottom pair, we should be saying - wow nice call, you had the best hand, maybe they even had a read on you.

The overall standard of NPL is much better than it used to be. Maybe we should be giving people more credit when they call with bottom pair, and its in front.

I think what Matty is trying to say is that we often write about our bad beats but never the exceptional plays or great calls our opponents made.

I love it when I hear someone say, how can you call me with that, the board is flushing and straightening and you call off half your stack on the river? I was representing strength. Or how can you call my all in when I shove on that scare card?

Because no matter what the board reads or what your bets are saying sometimes we all make exceptional calls based on our reads, sometimes we make downright awful play based on our reads and get lucky.

To me, in that situation when you shove in position after a checked all round flop, I think it smells and calling with mid pair (especially on a rag board) is certainly a valid option. Especially when fold equity and your shoving range against a hit board comes into the equation.

Maybe if the chips weren't so shiny there'd be less callers lol :)
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Shiny, shiny chips and pretty, pretty cards.

Hard to let go off for most; much easier for some to collect.

Ambiguous statement anybody?
