I'm fairly sure that once you qualify that's it and it's down to the main draw for the World Cup itself (which is really the World Cup Finals).

I'm stoked for Chippers, I really like him as a player. Was a great header - their keeper had nothing for that one.

Macca - go ahead and shout your head off. If the gf complains tell her she's un-Australian :)

In other, less important news... England beat Croatia 4-1 and it didn't involve a Frank Lampard deflection!
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Walcott hitting 3 says something (mind you, I did see a run of his for the Arse last season. Was impressed).

I think they at least classed the Teams as A,B,C,D so that you don't get Brazil & Argentina in the same group.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

got to be happy with the 1-0 win over Uzbekistan

i only watched the first half but it should of been 2-0 with the easy miss by breciano, couldnt of been any easier

I think it does, but cant realy be sure

I seem to remember the last world cup draw having rankings
so that you will usually get 2 stronger nations and 2 weaker nations in each group,
if you didnt you would get 1 group that has Italy, spain, brazil and Argentina in it and spoil it for everyone
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Those rankings are your overall ranking as a country. Nothing to do with where you finish in your WC qualifying group (unless of course that has had a direct effect on your actual overall ranking - not sure on that one though).

So.. if you're in, then you're in.

going purely from memory (and this could still be completely wrong) pots will be made and the top 8 countries will be kept apart and so will the next 8 and then it's random as for the remaining 16 countries.

There's a draw for Group A which will have 1 team from the top 8, another from the 2nd 8 and 2 from the remaining 16 teams.

Same for Group B and so on.

Or something like that...........

Australia 4 Qatar 0

Not a bad effort that!

Japan drew their game so it looks as though we are 2 points clear at the top of our group. Long way to go yet though.

We have 2 away games up next where we are playing Bahrain and then Japan - that one should be very interesting.

Bahrain 0 Australia 1

Quite the lucky escape it would seem. By all accounts we were outplayed all match and nicked a goal at the end courtesy of Mark Bresciano.

Having said that, about a day and a half to prepare isn't ideal!

Looks good for our qualification chances, still undefeated and sitting top of the group with Japan in 2nd place. Top 2 go through.
