Golf

Postby Chelsea4thewin » Thu Sep 11, 2008 1:16 pm

just wanted to know if any of you guys play golf?

where do u play? whats ur handicap?

i havent played for years but got back into it about a month ago, had a few rounds on a par 3 course and just got back from the driving range then, to my suprise i can actually drive the ball ok, but definately need a glove, my hands all hacked up :(

where does someone recommend me playing my first round on a full course? prob a shorter course if there is such a thing?

Cheers

I know nothing about courses out there. South I can help you with, but eww, not that way ;)

Like yourself, I'm a little rusty, but I used to play off of low teens. Bought myself a new set of clubs a year or so ago, and haven't really used them much, so would be keen for a round at some stage. Planning on getting down to Mt. Compass before the end of November if you/anyone is interested.

regency is a good course, 9 holes and pretty short (cheap too)

north adelaide north and south are also really nice courses, and relatively easy

Regency is a much better course than either of the 2 North Adelaide courses IMHO, purely due to green size. North Adelaide courses (particularly South) are like trying to land a shot on upturned saucers. I understand they've done it for easy of maintenance, but it isn't really conducive to shot making.

edit: can be very off putting for player when you see good shot roll off very limited green space - no value for good play.

Regency is good value tho.

I love golf! I'd be in - where ever.

I grew up on the North Adelaide courses. The North course has improved ten-fold in the last few years, from being quite barren and dusty, to green and lovely :)

Regency is great. Easy course though, with wide fairways and large greens.

I've played Lady Bay - very interesting (including hitting the green on a 340m par 4) and nice course - even if it is a drive.

Played Flagstaff hill three times, excellent course. Played Highercombe, and a few others too.

I wouldn't know what handicap I am - or anything like that. My best is 77 at the North course.

I play every year on my birthday (29th December) since I was 16. I hit a hole in one at Valley View (the 5th, HUGE hole haha), and kept playing each year after that.

i love getting out to play, but i am still very much a hack

i am yet to crack the ton, my best for a round was 100 on the dot when i missed a 1 metre put on the last hole.

i usually go round in 110 or so, but i haven't been out in 6 months
