I'm still getting used to the absolutely massive overbets that somehow aren't complete bs :)
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

played my first cash game on line last night
up untill now i had been playing sit and go's only

took $8 in to a 5c-10c table

verry different game, that should be played very differenly as i lasted less than an hour before i lost the lot, playing sit and go's the same amount of money has lasted me a week

not playing to get rich, dont care if i lose a bit but i think i might just stick to the tourneys for now.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

definitely easier to go broke in cash games

i reckon you need MIN 10 max buyins for the table, but that is prolly still to low - should be 20 really.

I think I remember Garth suggesting 100 buyins... was awhile ago though.

thats a roll of 1000 bucks in order to just sit down at the lowest limit tables at most sites

a bit of overkill i would think

A good bankroll is 10-20 x of the max buy in for whatever limit you play.

I play 2/4NL, max buy in is $400 on the site I play, my bankroll for this site is always $6,000 at a minimum. Sometimes I move up to 3/6NL when my bankroll is large enough again.

If my bankroll drops below 6K then I move down a level.

Disciplined bankroll management is a key aspect of being a great poker player.

Chris Ferguson has written some absolutely fantastic articles on it, my brother's post on here wasn't too bad either.

Pete, 100BB refers to effective start stacks on ring games.
