Is Beer good or what?

Postby Ondie J » Mon Oct 13, 2008 4:57 pm

Been a little bit since I last downed a beer after work due to being ill and let me tell you... today's beer is quite exquisite in this here lovely warmth. And how good is beer? Awesome I tell you. Even more awesome than Pete. <Nods>

Sure... I think I feel more like a nice drop of white with dinner but this beer has been a 'long' time coming and will tide me over quite nicely.

Just wanted to share :)

Awesome thread Ondie. And although i think we have discussed it before, it would like to share my favourite beers here now.

James Squire Amber Ale
Boags Premium
Pilsner Urquel
Coopers Stout
Carlsberg

And if im heading out or cash strapped, then Tooheys Extra Dry is the go.

What are other peoples favourite beers? (no need to reply Pete, we know yours already  )

I don't have a favourite. All beer is good.

Even the lime infused stuff.

WORST COMMENT EVER!!!

Boooo x 1000

Lime beer is for people who should be drinking cruisers - women and softmalechickens.

Poor form bacon, poor form.

I love all beer. Some more than others. Very much an acquired taste. Like my coffee addiction, too.

I really do like Tooheys' Extra Dry. Very nice beer. I have always been a Coopers man too, love the Pale and Sparkling, and the Stout as well.

Pete's got me on to Carlsberg which is a very refreshing beer.

I do like XXXX Gold (even though most don't).. it's great on a hot day, mid-strength so a bit less on the alcohol content etc. Good out of bottles too - with questions under the lids.

Oh, it's BEER Weather alright.

Coopers Vintage, Sparkling and Pale (in that order too), followed by Beez Neez.

Tried, wait for it, this name is really cool, Indian Goat Pale Ale, and to quote Pete, it was
Awesome
.

Was at Mexican place on Melb Street the other week, they had some Chili Beer, and that was pretty special too - far spicier then I imagined.

Problem with being sick, beer tastes funny :(

God where can i start.

The heat up here has put me on a veritable tasting plate of beers.

Millers Chill go well. Tooheys White Stag is ok.
Beez neez is good. going to Little Creatures Brewhouse in a couple of weeks for work, so will let u guys know.

In regards to local beers, Matso's in broome is supposed to be good. They have a chili beer, a ginger beer, and a few others.

Grand Ridge have a few top drinks. Moonshine, supershine and a nice blonde.

Have sat down with the Bohemian Pilsener by Matilda Bay (redback).

Still hands down my all time drop. Was the Cascade Summer Blonde. $90 a carton, and worth every dollar. Smooth, light, fresh. Definitely have my roots in blonde/wheat beers.

Don't get me on spirits.

Red Death has its time and place. Shot-gunning it is probably the only way to drink it though.

LOL @ Eagle Blue. I saw cartons of it on Priscilla last night and laughed. (Plus it was the first beer I drank)
