As Sucsessfull winning captain ( Brag Brag)
I just wanted to congratulate Todd on a Great Day yesterday.
He Wasnt joking when he posted that his day started so early and finished so late as i saw him setting up early in the day when i took my family to the club for lunch and he was still working hard when we left at 1am.
So well done Todd and his charges an unbelivably well run day on both events.
Well done to all the Waikerie team and also the few waikerie regulars who missed out ( im sorry we couldnt fit you all in the team),
it was a great effort and a solid performance.
lastly congratulations and back slapping must go to Maccatack for a first in the pre game, out lasting nearly 60 runners and netting a nice pay day and then for his gallant 3rd in the regionals, 2 final tables in a row for regionals now, his results in the past 3 months certainly would put him up as one of the riverlands best players.

Yes well done to con and adam, it was a great day of poker, and it was fantastic to be up against two very good players on thew final table.
(i did nearly have con crippled toddy, and he sucked out to knock me out. it was always going to require some massive hands to knock people out when the blinds were capped at 5k/10k with each of us having 70-100k)
This is the hand that knocked me out.
Im in the bb and look at [jd] [10c]
The small blind completes, strange move as i have been pushing against a completed small blind a fair bit, so i get a bit worried about a trap and check my option.
The flop came [jc] [10s] [ah]
You bloody ripper. I check and con goes insta-all in. Me calling him would have left him with only a big blind or two, and would have meant myself and adam were almost heads up for the second time in the day.
I call, and con shows [Ad] [kh]
Im in front, but dodging aces, kings and queens.
I give Todd a stern warning about the ramifications of dealing a queen right here, and he obliges, but instead the turn is [Ac] and im drawing dead.
To rub it in the river was [10d], but i was out in 3rd place. A fantastic day and well played to everyone involved. Well done also to toddy and nicole for running a great event.
The teams event was awesome, and i loved the idea of having spare players not chosen for venue teams making up 'all star teams' if they wanted to be involved. This kept everyone happy. Maybe in future seasons (i hope we get more teams events), players not chosen for venue sides could enter in their own teams (e.g. putty, megatilt, chris willighby, cryer boys etc). But it was a great concept and very easy to follow and implement.
Well done all!!! A special mention to krunchie for winning a chip set in a prize table for those knocked out - when he was off his face. Maybe you should get sh1tfaced for all games of poker mate, then you might be able to win one (for those of you who don't know, krunchie has been close numerous times, but has never won a tourney).
Was a great day!!

Re: Riverland Regional Final & Teams event
It was an fantastic job by Toddy and Nichole to run both events, also to keep players involved they also organized a number of bad beat tables with various prizes up grabs.
Krunchie won one of the bad beat tables his prize was a poker chip set others were vying for bottles Scotch/Burbon etc.
In the first event which all you know macca went on to win, but it was great see the sportsmanship that Adam and Macca displayed, just as they went to head to head with the title up for grabs and the $250 first prize on the line the two combatants agreed to split the prize money, $100 each and the remaining $50 to the ultimate winner, at that tme Adam held at least a 10 to 1 chip lead.
As for the regional final for me it was an up and down then up again event with my impatients getting the better of me trying to move the game along too quickly I ran into a nut flush at the the tme I knew it was a stupid call to call the allin. But thats poker.
A well deserved congratulation to both Macca and Adam a 1/3 and a 2/2 result are credit to both of them, Macca now must almost be seeded No1 in the Riverland with his performances this season and the last 5 weeks of last season.
Toddy and most Renmarkians are still smarting from the loss of the Footy now they have to contend with Waikerie as the Riverland Poker Teams Champions....all I can say is suck it up there's more to come yet, surely Waikerie has earnt the right to host the next Regional Final and make those from Renmark make that long journey for a change, road maps can be supplied if required.
Forum Freerollers beware the Waikerie forum rats are comming Macca, Krunchie and Gundog.
