wow that's WAY old benny the cunt... Roy Keane is a manager now and Michael Owen has been at Newcastle (for a pretty penny) for a couple of seasons.

I'd like to see the wage bill at Chelsea :P

Wages all thru the EPL would have gone up heaps since then.

The wages are probably the least of it, all the clubs are getting oodles of cash from sponsorships and tv rights etc.

Have a look at this....

http://www.top-ten-10.com/sports/footba ... nsfers.htm

There's been a couple of big ones since then though, Berbatov to Man Utd (30 mil) and Torres and Keane to Liverpool (both 20 mil pounds) and I doubt Man City got Robinho on the cheap (stupid undisclosed sums).

Interestingly, and this is just for you benny the cunt, prior to Torres in 2007 - Liverpools record signing was Djibril Cisse for 14 mil.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Here's the TV rights moolah....

"Sky paid £1,314 million and Setanta paid £392 million for these broadcast rights.

This deal represents approximately £28 million to each Premier League football club per year."

Not too shabby eh?

definitely un-shabby

but if you consider that the big clubs have paid more than that for single players' transfer fees, it pales into insignificance.

It's as much to do with outgoing players as well benny the cunt.

All people seem to see is "so and so bought for squillions" but they somehow miss the 'transfers out' section.

Chelsea are an exception cos they just flat out spent 100's of millions of pounds. Then they went and did it again.

Whilst we're on about transfers... you really do have to see this... I still can't stop laughing about it!

http://www.setanta.com/en/UK/IOSS/

4th episode from the top - "The Battle for Berba".

It's funny because it's true!

Rule 1: Pete is never wrong.
Rule 2: See rule 1.
Rule 3: Don't argue with Pete because of Rule 1.

If I'm bothering to even discuss it, it's because I know I'm right :P
