That's fair enough, he'd be seen as more of a marquee player in Spain than England though - mostly because he was already hero worshipped over there when playing for Atletico.

Shevchenko is/was similar (ignoring that he largely flopped) he was absolutely idolised at AC Milan whereas no1 really cared at Chelsea, but you can bet there were a lot of fans in Italy suddenly paying more attention to Chelsea.

Arsenal would have plenty of interest from Spain because of Fabregas, but Arsenals entire squad (almost) is non-English so they'd have plenty of interest from all over the shop.

Certainly doesn't hurt the marketing any :P

Remember when Diouf first came to Liverpool? Senegal went nutso buying Liverpool shirts etc (bless their lack of cotton socks) cos he's absolutely huge over there. Barely a ripple in England though!

So I guess it depends on which angle you look at it from.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Anyone see the goal by (david?) bentley for tottenham against arsenal?

He tee'd it up for the volley from just inside half way and beat the keeper. Awesome goal against his old club. The game ended 4-4. Have tottenham turned the corner i wonder?

Made Chelsea look pretty silly :P

You seem to forget the abundance of 1-0 win's chelsea seemed to magic up in the seasons they won the title.

Man Utd had a knack of doing the exact same thing.

It's one of those things that just needs to go your way if you are going to win the league.

From BBC Football's gossip column....

Burnley fans are desperate to buy replica copies of Robbie Blake's pants. The striker dropped his shorts after scoring last week revealing a pair of red pants with the words 'Bad Beat Bob.'

For those without Foxtel....

http://www.viewlivefooty.com/

Free streaming for many of Europes different leagues including the EPL.

No rego required, different streams may use different add-ons for your browser.

The speed of the stream seems to be quite good (at least for the few I tested) and I didn't have to pause or wait for any buffering at all.

If anyone sees a good quality (free) HD stream for the EPL let me know!

Here's a link for GMT (English time) so you don't have to strain your heads remembering how far in front we are....

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

It shows you your local time and also GMT so you know how many hours of sleep you're not getting before kick-off :P

My Foxtel's on the blink so nighty night everyone, big game in the morning!

COME ON YOU REDS!

what an interesting night in the EPL, just saw the highlights of a few of the games, Stoke City beating Arsenal with two long throws was pretty funny

but good to see Anelka getting a hatrick and sending chelsea back where they belong, on top
