Not a hard luck story, we just had an unfortunate combination of a calling station who was also a mega card rack at our table.

Here is how I realated it to a friend

myself wrote:bah, just card dead. won one very small pot, then picked up AK, hit the K, but lay it down on the turn as I put someone on the flush (they had 2 pair, which boated - bad read, good fold :D).

Then overplayed top pair with an up and down straight flush draw to pull my stack down to 2k.

From there I was always going to have to get lucky, and I pushed all in (AQo) from the BB (300 + 1600 push) when there were 2 limpers in the pot. One of them was calling everything (and hitting mind you), and wanted him to call. He called, with JT, hit his jack on the flop. game over :-(

meh, there is always tomorrow ;-)


Sat with ALK, and madcow's missus. There was some fairly decent poker played at the table - can't fault the big stack for limping in when was obviously hitting so much. I don't really like it myself :(, but hey, that is my problem!

Your man was short stacked, Steve, but you just never know what Ondie will do ... :D

Just received an update ...

Ondie J is out, 28th place :(

Big Pete still in with 19 players remaining, sitting on about 40k.

FYI, the starting field was 397.

edit: Blinds are currently 3000/6000/500.

looks like he went out around 50th
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Big hand just went down.

Pre-flop raise to 25k, with blinds at 4k/8k (not sure on the ante size).

Late position player moves all-in over the top.

MASSIVE think from the original raiser. Fair bit of back and forth verbal.

He calls, creating a 150k+ pot.

Re-raiser shows KK.

Original raiser tables 55.

Flop comes down .... xx5.

No help on the later streets, and the player holding KK is busted down to 1k.
