i thought i had played this hand really well. my image was tag at the time, and chance27 was very lag. i had also made a note about 20 mins earlier that he had been overplaying pocket pairs - he called down with 99 and 77 previously when there were very dangerous boards, so i put him on a good pair with a flush draw - and thats what he ended up having :P

i figured that if he had already flushed, i had 11 outs to the house, which was 5:1 odds, and my call was at about 3.5:1. so i wasn't quite getting odds, but the critical bit of info was the fact that he had been overplaying pockets, and this is what made me call.

now i just gotta win this tourney :P

And in all reality if he had the flush or straight, why would he shove there?

Look out for the overshove though. Online players are more likely to call a bet that is oversized, they think it is a sign of weakness.

Most decent players will know that.

Or it could be a baby flush or a straight where he is worried about the flush, but pf action doesn't dictate a straight here.

yeah because of the action preflop, i discounted baby flushes and the 68/36 straights

so that left me with another set, a good flush, or a pair and a draw.

and as you said, if he had AK of hearts, then why would he jam it with the nuts? (although as you said, a lot of ppl call you down light when u jam it in as opposed to a 'proper' bet, dont i know it :P)

so that left me putting him on a pair and a draw, and with the house redraw, i was willing to stick my chips in there - if he a higher set, then good on him, but i reckon he would have jammed the flop when i bet if that was the case

u got pretty lucky with those fours, a raise then a re-raise to all in, i may have folded here but there was quite a big pot forming so the call was only to hit your set which you did

as Garth said that shove on the river showed weakness, no way he had the nuts, well done benny the cunt

and about those Aces, what can you do, when u play low limit you have to expect that sort of poker, i bought into "that site" today, sitting on the 6seater 5c/10c, sitting there tight/aggressive, after a while no one wanted to get involved with me, had blinds folded to me constantly, turned my $10 in $30, good to be back online working on my $66 orginal bankroll = $100 AUS

might start playin tourneys soon but dont have the time to sit in a 1000 person tourney, esp if i run deep

yeah the only reason i called was because there were so many people in the pot - after i made the initial call, i was getting nearly 4.5:1 - not quite the odds for a set, but i figured that with so many people in the pot, if i did hit my set then i would definitely get paid off for them.

yeah i know, just sucks when it is happening time after time at the moment.

but thats poker i guess
