Couldn't have been said any better than that! You all gotta come down to Pooraka and see for your selves it's an awsome venue and there's always good NPL staff members working there, and also playing there.

Re: Favourite Venue and Why
My favourites at the moment are:
(1)
the crows tavern (west lakes)
They have very nice bar staff good service when we are playing
yummy chicken cesar salad!! (one full card per main meal)
and very cheap to stamp your cards out (bottle of coke $2.90 and u get 2 stamps)
nice people who play there - every ones friends
and ALEX and BARB run it... 2 good to be true (I KNOW)
(2) semaphore palais
good prize money for the winner of the night $200
nice bar staff
lots of room to walk around and play
nice manger MAT
and once again Alex runs it so no problems

Re: Favourite Venue and Why
Pooraka footy clubs my favorite by far. It's got a great atmosphere on both Tuesday and Sunday. The bar prizes are footy club prizes, cheap. The staff there are second to none, very friendly and aren't a bunch of tight arses when it comes to stamps. You find people will buy more because they don't feel forced to pay heaps for drinks. I predict this venue will get close to 100 within the next couple of seasons.

I see alot of people talking about how good it is at the pooraka footy club, the only thing people say is there are no meals there !!!
Well to let all you players know the kitchen will be open next season so you will be able to come to the best venue in town with the cheapest drinks, the best staff, greatest athmosphere & of course i will be there
so many thanks to tony and the staff well done and we will see you all down there next season
now we have a 100% perfect venue

Re: Favourite Venue and Why
Time to bring up an old thread
KENTISH ARMS has turned into my favourite venue, just the relaxed atmosphere of sitting in the beer garden drinking, playing poker and having a laugh with some great people makes it an enjoyable night
come down and check it out, Nathans bounty game this week too

Re: Favourite Venue and Why
I am looking forward to coming to sa mid next year and trying out some of these venues ... if you come to vic, head for geelong to the Norlane Hotel .. THE best bar meals, the nicest people, not cheap to drink, but the staff make up for it, Frances, Jack and so on ... great food and a great TD (Ivan) ... what more could you ask for?

Re: Favourite Venue and Why
My issue with some venues is that, even though the venue is great, they oft put the event in the worst part.
A nice part of playing cards socially is being in a nice looking environment. For example, I'd much rather play upstairs at the Highlander, than out the back. The Modbury was nice (albeit cramped) in the area it was in, but not in the front bar when it was there temporarily.
On a side note, I want to get photos of ALL VENUES. Even just one, to see what a place looks like, with tables setup, and also with action going on.
