That's tough benny the cunt, obviously the guy was calling with anything (hey they were suited... he must have been looking for the backdoor flush!) and those are the type of players you want on your table, he was about a 1:9 dog when he called on the turn so you would want him calling there every time.... well maybe 8 times out of 9 :D

It is pretty hard when you just keep taking beating after beating though. I just experienced a similar thing myself and my advice when you are going through a rough patch is you just need to concentrate on playing your A game knowing that eventually things will turn around, easy to say and hard to keep the patience and discipline I know. I had built my bankroll up from $50 to almost $400 playing mainly tourneys and SNGs and then a hit a bad patch where I just kept losing any coin flips I got into and all sorts of other crazy hands and bad beats etc. and lost almost half the BR I had built up. I was getting pretty frustrated and after loosening up my game for a few wins before I realised I had turned into a bit of LAGtard due to the frustration etc. I really tried to tighten up my game and concentrate on really picking my spots and what do you know the last two tourneys I have played I finished 2nd and 3rd and also won a SNG in between to get my BR up to about $500.

So just stick with it benny the cunt, keep making the right decisions and the poker gods will turn to your side soon and hopefully you will get a couple of good finishes and before you know it the confidence will be sky high again.

It's called variance, learn to embrace it.

Stop being so results orientated, look at how many times you make a +EV play.

Trust me it's the only way you can look at it, noone runs as bad as me when I hit a bad patch. The only thing you can take away from it right now is: I got my money in when I was a 4 to 1 favourite and he paid me off. etc......

If we played poker without the luck factors and based our winnings on Sklansky dollars, I would be a millionaire.

On Saturday night, I ran into two flushes higher than mine on seperate occasions. I ran into trip kings with a J kicker, three handed, I was holding trip kings with the nine playing. I flopped two pair against an over pair, I over shoved and he called, spikes his A on the turn. So many times this happens to me.

But it's poker, I'm never getting away from the second or third nut flush on a laggy table. And Andre was running so good that he could be drawing at a 1000 - 1 on the flop and still hit his perfect, perfect, hence why I couldn't get away from my trip kings, I was frustrated from the hand before when I was slow playing him and he hit perfect perfect for the wheel. It comes in swings, relax, take a deep breath and continue to make +EV plays.

lucky its only a few dollars not a few thousand, you wouldnt be saying that if the repo man came and took ur house

but that might be poor bankroll management

exactly right

personally, i think poker is a game of skill that has a lot of luck involved

but it definitely becomes gambling when people play with more money than they can afford, which means they are gambling that they will get good cards.

I can only agree with this benny the cunt. I know the feeling though, when you're running bad - it feels like its never gonna stop. Just keep at it and eventually you'll be in the green again. +EV and all that jazz.

AK. Ask any of the TD's and in particular Nathan how bad I run.

I swear to god I will not play poker whilst I am in SA ever again.

Too bad my phone was dead and I had no car Garth - if I'd made it there, you would have recouped some of your losses at least ;)

Oh I thought he was first to act - that's what it sounded like it when you described it to me.

Why check? That's a pretty draw heavy board right there. Its not like you've flopped a set, bet at that! Tptk ain't the nuts.
