It's not that you are boring us Queen9, and this is a forum for everyone. But Garth has address the issues with Double December. He's agreed having it for a month was a bad idea, and that it wont happen like that again. However it is here to stay for this season.
Theres 13 days left to this season, so all I can say to people is to try and make the best of the situation and most of all, enjoy poker for what it is. Maybe stop trying to worry about your "record" and maybe go back to what brought us all to NPL in the first place... the love of the game.

Re: give country people a chance
I just read the last two comments made by Des and Queen 9 and was extremely disappointed, especially as a Victorian living in South Australia.
Queen, that was so uncalled for!!! Since you have been here you have raised some vaild points and had heaps of support from fellow forum users as well as having Garth take the time to answer you.
This is without mentioning the fact that ALL Victorian members of the forum have been welcomed with open arms! Even if their posts didn't make any sense at all.
This is no longer NPLSA.com it has become nplforum.com and it has been a positive change for players and NPL.
Have a humourous VIC V SA is awesome, but the need to have a nasty VIC V SA competition is extremely disappointing.
And to you Des.....
I have seen you and most everyone of us (hell yeah, I am more than included) flog a dead horse heaps of times on these forums. Each and everytime we have had someone pipe up, but lets be honest, to read what Queen has been saying we actually have to come into the Victorian section of the forums to read it.
As has been said many times over here, everyone has the right to have their say and to be heard without fear of having those around us determine the direction of the thread.
If you don't want to read it, don't venture into the thread that has absolutely nothing to do with you.
I know I don't.
Ohhh and history dictates that in most cases a new forum member will just put a little more flogging into a dead topic. Maybe tolerance is needed in that case!

Re: give country people a chance
Its a shame that your sarcasm far outweighs your ability to answer questions of concern from fellow npl members. Maybe this could be the answer as to why you dont receive as much feedback as you would like.
Sarcasm? None of my responses to any issues raised have been sarcastic. I just re read every post in this thread and I cannot see how you can read sarcasm into them, anger possibly. I have asked for details on issues raised again and again, and not just with the Hoppers Club. Yet they remain unanswered and until they are answered there is very little I can do.
Of course I am concerned about the issues both you and Rosemary have raised.
Hence why after an 8 hour drive from Adelaide I stopped in to Hoppers to watch the tournament run and to speak to a few people. People who I know play throughout that region consistently. I spoke to six players in particular and discussed many aspects of the competition and contractor's performance. From these people there was no negativity in regards to any of these issues.
I will still look into these issues of poor customer service but I and Garry have received several emails today from players who are vouching for the TD's at Hoppers and the great job that they do. So it is obviously an issue that causes much consternation between players.
That is as much as I am willing to discuss on a public forum. For the record I personally believe that the team of TD's throughout the West and North do a fantastic job and overall their competency, skills and behaviour have increased dramatically from 12 months ago.
But then again I am not there in person at all tournaments to see what conduct is displayed.

Re: give country people a chance
Caroline, I started replying to your post, in which I addressed your point of view, and the related discussion. When I realised I was about to start page 4 of my post, I decided discretion is the better part of valour, and chose to truncate.
December Double points was a contentious issue. Clearly. And with the advent of other states coming on board the forum at this particular juncture, it was expected that this topic would be raised.
Des' above post, which is in no way mean-spirited, abusive or lacking in factual accuracies, is a post, that by your words, he is perfectly entitled to make. He has a position; an opinion. He has voiced it. It also addresses the fact that the core issue has been put to bed, in a management sense, by Garth, who has covered this issue more than once, from both his and the NPL's point of view.
The posts are there to read from Garth re this issue. He has addressed the same complaint over double points December several times. he has stated both his and the NPL's position and decision on this issue on more than one occasion. So if someone wants to post in response to an "I'm not playing in protest of ..." post, when the above is there to be read, I don't have a problem with it.
No-one is saying, or indeed has said, that anyone who happens upon this forum is less entitled to a voice than others. But that is a two-way street; forums are made for opinion voicing, and the counter position there-in.

Re: give country people a chance
I would like to thank des and nevah play jj for their kind words, there was no malice in the comment I made, and I know the dd is a dead horse, and I am sure there are other things we could write about that wouldn't upset the others, as some of them are bored with the subject and I am sure Garth is sick of it too.
So I thank you for defending my right of freedom of speech and opinion and for the welcome you have given me here in this forum... but I will still take your chips when we meet ... lol .... Q9

Hey ya Scott...
I would loved to have seen the 4 page post.
I do have to ask one question, where in my post did I ever say that Des's post was "mean spirited, abusive or lacking in factual accuracies?? I don't recall doing or saying that at any point.
I did however say that one of Queens comment was uncalled for!
I maintain that it was and do not appologise for thinking so.
I also maintain it is great to see you defending a friends post, as I would do exactly the same thing and frankly if you were defending anyones right for free speech you would definately have defended Queens comments also, I did not see you do that.
As I also stated there are always going to be new forum members that are going to continue to flog dead topics, whether they are put to bed or not and lets be honest, Queen WAS responding to a post put in by a new forum member and this appears to be someone she knows.
Does she not have the right to do this?
What I was trying to say and maybe this was not clear enough, was that this is now an all state forum for NPL, you should know that better than most any forum member.
Queens comment bothered me because frankly I can already see a "them and us" mentality creeping in and frankly I just saw Des's comments as adding fuel to that fire. Again I do not appologise for that.
For the record, did I not also put myself in as a fellow forum member that might not always make the best of posts? Because I definately remember saying I put myself in that category.
As a last thought before I hit the sack..
South Australians have had the forums for as long as David has had them up and running (I am sorry but I have no idea how long the forums have been going for) and for as long as the forums have been up, South Australians have had a voice directly to the upper level management.
Victorians are now finding this voice and they are going to be very excited about finally having a say, this is definately going to mean tolerance on our part, we might have said it, heard it, seen it, but frankly they have not... shouldn't they be given just a touch more leeway.
Also again, I maintain if you feel this is of no relevance to yourselves, then don't visit the topic, that will remove any and all annoyances.

Re: give country people a chance
I think we have had a breakdown in communication here.
I have read all the posts and I did not inherit any feelings of malice or negativity from anyone's posts.

Re: give country people a chance
JJ: I didn't see anything wrong with Queen's post. To me, it sounded like she was saying, to herself, that everyone has heard enough of DD and its time to move on. She realises that she's posted and complained about DD a fair bit and didn't want to be known for that. That's what I got from it, anyway.
