david, getting a receipt is one thing, pre-paying for drinks, and getting a receipt to mark them off as you get them .. is not allowed - we have tried it ..and they won't budge ...but I am going higher up the food chain.
One player buys 2 jugs of coke when he arrives, so he knows he has both cards done. he has a couple of drinks over dinner and walks away and leaves the remainder to be thrown out, or if he sees a family having dinner, he gives them one of the jugs. if he could prepay for them, he would take one, and probably never get the 2nd one .. no wastage, the club makes more money, being paid for a jug that they don't have to provide...he has even told them he will pay for 2 but only give him one .. he is told that they have to give him 2.
(I was referring to previous comments made about pre paying for drinks, unfortunately, I can't get those comments into a quote, I don't know how .. lol ... can you help me?)

Re: Drink card redemption
well if they wont budge to a completely reasonable request, then vote with your feet and play somewhere else that night
you are completely within your rights to do that, and if the venue doesn't want to let you prepay their drinks, that is their right as well - even if it does have the potential to hurt business.

Re: Drink card redemption
we have voted with our feet at one venue, but we are not big drinkers and their food is not great, so we don't eat there anymore as we got sick of complaining about the food and being shrugged off, so we are not missed.
the other venue runs 3 nights a week, and I am going to the top - the main man, the general manager, the Jay man ... lol ... to see if I can't get this fixed....
I will let you all know that outcome ...wish me luck .....

Re: Drink card redemption
I'm fairly sure the only thing they can't do is not provide someone with something they've purchased.
Eg: your friend wishes to buy 3 jugs of coke to be stamped up but really only wants to drink 1 and declines to actually receive the other 2.
They can't/won't do that as far as I know - it might be a legislative thing. So he pretty much just has to receive them and do what he likes with them afterwards.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
