Please tell me you're not a) likening Muse to Tool, and b) calling Tool an emo band?

The best definition I've seen for emo music;

Punk music on estrogen.

ok fair enough

but muse and tool fans always seem to wear tight jeans and black t-shirts - maybe minus the long fringe to one side, but still pretty emo

Tight jeans and black tshirts = Emo?

I've seen a lot of emo people at Metallica concerts over the years then.

Tool <> Muse

Tool <> Emo
Muse <> Emo

Man, I can't stress how FAR from emo they are.

I hate the term emo anyway. Just goths really.

If "emo" music is anything it's slow/medium speed punk/pop about emotional subjects (hence, emo) which are mainly aimed at teenagers. The music isn't indepth at all, and just carries along with the lyrics.

Muse, and Tool, are TOTALLY different. Extremely musically driven, complex themes and GIFTED musicians.

I could remove the words from Muse and Tool songs and still get something out of it, easily.

Take the words out of an "emo" song, you're left with the demo button from my old Yamaha organ.

oh, i think i am agreeing with you on this one

i think i am basing it on a person i know that is one of those shy dudes at uni that wears band t-shirts and sits in his room on a weekend listening to tool etc - similar to what emos would do

actually, i know at least 2 people like that

but yes, emo is prolly not the right word - and the genre is pop-punk whiny crap.

In fact, "emo" is more about the person, then the music.

Emo's are weak-skinny goths.

Mind you, being shy and quiet, and sitting in your room listening to music is far from being emo.

That's just being naturally shy, and finding solace in good music (ie Tool).

benny the cunt, I honestly think you made Scott cry.

Using Tool and emo in the same sentence.... oh dear.

Tight jeans and black T-shirts sounds more like Slayer, Metallica, Megadeath etc to me.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Oh my ...

Britney

Nickelback

Tool and emo.

Quite possibly the worst thread ever

I don't think you can compare Tool to anyone, or even classify them, Tool are just Tool, awesome, talented, unique..... and how fun is playing the Tool songs on Guitar Hero, try the drumming, Danny Carey (the drummer) is a legend!
