Hey Rosemary, if someone plays more games than you... then they absolutely DO have an advantage over you on the SLB.
Once you have played 15 games, your SLB average simply cannot get any worse, it can only get better.
Playing more games means more chances to make it better, because it's only the best 15 of your games that count anyway.
That's the crux of why it has no bearing on how good a player anyone on the SLB is.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Re: Regional and State leaderboards
thanks Pete, I agree with you that the more games you play, the more advantage you have as you can improve your average every time you better you lowest score.
my point is that here in vic, wayne, who is on top of the slb has only played 37 games, while a player further down has played 61. so one would presume, that if wayne is on top after 37 games, and his average is a whopping 24 points ahead of the 61 gamer (no offence Bill), then he must be a better player as with all the advantages of playing another 24 games, he still has not managed to better his score enough to catch wayne.
a couple of players on the s.a. slb have played almost 3 times as many games as wayne, so it would appear that the multi gamers do have a distinct advantage, however, the vic slb, in my opinion, does carry some weight as far as state leaderboard winner and I am not sure why it is so different.
I will look further into this and do some stats ... lol ....

Rosemary - you're right.
But you had to look IN to the stats to find it. If the person on top had played 60 and the person in the other position had played 30, you couldn't make the same conclusion.
In essence, the actual leaderboard, in it's pure form of POSITION and NAME, tells you nothing.

I'll agree with that Rosemary, if someone has played half as many games and is still in front, in my view they are better.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

It looks like this subject is dead now.
Sad that I will have to accept that NPL venue players from small and medium venues cannot challenge the top of state or regional leaderboards next season because they are playing against larger venues.

Re: Regional and State leaderboards
I think all leaderboard qualification methods, positional criteria and data will remain the same for the next two seasons.
I am happy to re visit this issue if we can still have the following criteria filled:
1.) Players must be rewarded on their finishing positions.
2.) The larger the playing field the greater the rewards.
3.) A set of elements that can decide who is the "best performing" player based around their statistical achievements.
4.) Without disadvantaging our multi game players or finding another reward for those who play 3+ times per week.
