You have to be kidding Bob.
I'm not touching this one.

Well Garth here we go again. After reading your comments you have once again turned something I was suggesting as a good thing into something bad!!!! Obviously you've got your negative glasses on again. So, let's see if we can clear the picture a little better for you.

My reply to Des
Here! Here! Des. I totally enjoyed the day and as you said it was there in black and white or blue and black, if you knoiw what I mean.

Now that it has been done and dusted I thought it was a good idea to get some feedback for Garth and company. And as I said b4 the concept was great and I feel it would also be a great end of year get together for everyone.
Hey, I've just come up with a BRILLIANT IDEA

I'll even put a bounty on myself and I'm sure the rest of you FORUM POSTERS like yourself, Dave, Bacon, benny the cunt, Scotty, Big Pete, Bruce, Aaron and many more would also be up to the task. Plus the bounties on our TD's and Management.

Just think of all the bounty prizes you could win if you had a good day on the tables, and a chance to also win a trophy and cash prizes. WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!

Come on Garth Annabelle & Co. make it happen!

Is there a problem with individuals, TD's and Management playing and having personal bounties etc to add a little bit of fun????

Garth said
Prizes will be as prizes announced. I would only contemplate running anything of the sort for those players who had played more than 300 games in a year.

There are other ideas for FTT's and there will be larger prize pools at times. But for people to complain that we had a $1,000 prize pool and that wasn't enough for one day of fun.........

I won't finish that thought.

Garth it's not a prize money issue when I refered to opening the "VAULT". It was a suggestion again to maybe put some cash up to go towards the food etc, no big deal just an idea.

And as far as only rewarding those whose have played 300 games in a year!!!! well that's a bit harse M8. So unless an individual plays more than 6 games a week over a 50 week period he's not worthy of playing an end of season NPL partners game????????? See how easy it is to miconstrue you wordings too!!!!!

Make it a really special day and open up the bank vault and put on a really fun day for the end of the season and year.

Maybe NPL could chip in some cash towards a buffet lunch at the ARK or even a BBQ at one of the larger club venues or maybe have it in the New Year B4 the season starts.

Did you actually miss the point where I was "SUGGESTING" to making it a "SPECIAL DAY" using the "Partners format" to celebrate the end of the NPL season which has nothing to with the FTT's?????????????

Like I said before, it's feedback time for Garth & Co. to look at for next year and these are just some ideas I have floating around in my head.

The above quote should have been simple enough for anyone to understand. Obviously, you haven't looked at the replies in total nor have you read my post in a positive manner. So, why do you bother asking for ideas when you belittle the person or persons offering them?

Have a great Xmas Buddy, regards Bob B

Yes there is Bob. Plenty of issues arise from this concept. If we offer a bounty tournament and staff take time out of their day to participate are they able to win prizes on offer? Are they able to win bounties placed on players? Will there be players who are upset by this?
If they cannot win prizes do I pay them for their time?

There are so many repercussions by allowing contractors and management to play in an event like this.

Garth it's not a prize money issue when I refered to opening the "VAULT". It was a suggestion again to maybe put some cash up to go towards the food etc, no big deal just an idea.

Offering a free lunch is seen as a prize, it would have to come out of the marketing budget anyway. Even at $10 per head and a max cap of 400 players that is $4,000 spent on food. That's a huge whack out of the budget that is already spread thin. And I think if NPL were to offer a fully catered tournament then we would definitely have more than 400 players interested, hence why I would restrict it to our multi game players as there reward. Do you see where I am coming from now? It's not harsh, it's simple; the multi gamers are the biggest losers out of the new competition restructure (only slightly though in my mind) so I would be willing to run a catered tournament as reward to them and that way the numbers are restricted. 300 games may have been an over exaggeration but it would definitiely be aimed at those who play 3+ times per week on a regular basis.

Did you actually miss the point where I was "SUGGESTING" to making it a "SPECIAL DAY" using the "Partners format" to celebrate the end of the NPL season which has nothing to with the FTT's?????????????

No Bob I didn't miss it hence why I believe it is an unbelievably redundant idea. 45,000 players played at least 3 times over the last season, so let's make it a special day and open it to everyone?? It's not possible, hence why we use FTT's as a qualification criteria so we can dictate the numbers slightly better.

The above quote should have been simple enough for anyone to understand. Obviously, you haven't looked at the replies in total nor have you read my post in a positive manner. So, why do you bother asking for ideas when you belittle the person or persons offering them?

I have looked at the replies in total, if you believe I am belittling you then it may be you who has the negative glasses on. I am stating that it cannot be done nor that I am after this type of feedback at this time. Whilst your idea would be good with the right criteria to back it up it is something that will probably never happen.

All I was after was feedback on the structure, I know the prizes were lame but that was the budget we were given to work with. It was more about a day of fun poker before Christmas, and yes I know the timing was bad but it is the end of the year.

Bob, you are clearly one of the most imaginative business people I know, who knows one day we could have you consulting for our marketing department (which is me at the moment) but I don't think I belittle you. I am straightforward and upfront and in no way was my post meant to be received negatively. I am sorry if it has. As for grandiose ideas, you are full of them but you must be able to see that some are impractical.

Have a good Christmas Bob and as usual I look forward to butting heads with you in the future.

Nice reply Garth and very understandable when your refering to 45,000 punters. I love it when we go head to head on something like two friggin rams on the side of the hill, LOL.

Garth it's not a prize money issue when I refered to opening the "VAULT". It was a suggestion again to maybe put some cash up to go towards the food etc, no big deal just an idea.

But bear in mind I was only suggesting "some cash" not a lot but some cash towards an NPL end of year BBQ or dinner. I can see now why it would not be practical nor possible for a total of 45,000 punters.

Unfortunately, I'm not a rich man by any means so my funds won't go that far. I was prepared to put a considerable amount of money towards such an event if it were possible but I see now that it would not be fair on the other states.

I assume Nick is a very nice boy and is very passionate towards NPL. But you are purely and simply stating the obvious regarding prize money, prizes, NPL's efforts in planning and running major events to make it the best, etc, etc, etc.

I speak for those of us who have been playing NPL venues since it started in SA. And I for one have stood on a proverbial soap box many, many, times and praised the efforts of NPL for introducing no limit poker in this state. You may or may not have been with NPL for as long as some of us have but I'm sure WE ALL share the same passion.

Please don't take what I have to say next as being a personal attack on you as I have very little knowledge of you personally.

Don't generalise me in one of "your posts" by using one of "my quotes" and then proceed to babble on as if you know me and my thoughts coz your barking up the wrong tree.

Again I admire your passion but I find it so rediculous when you jump on the word VAULT and make it an issue. The quote you used was actually clarifying to put some cash in towards food for an NPL end of season BBQ or lunch.

Hell, I was gonna put my own money up to get it going but you can kiss that idea goodbye. 45,000 punters at any BBQ is way too expensive, LOL

Hope you all have a good Xmas and I'll see you on the felt in the new year

And like Forrest Gump said, My momma said, I've had enough to say on this subject so that's about it!!!!!

Bob,

You are an absolute gun.

I enjoy our back and forths, especially when it get's going.

I tell you what I will be happy to discuss an invitational event with you and we can decide on something then. But if it's a BBQ I will pay for the food and you can cook?

I was actually thinking about your idea and I have decided it could work with the forum. And we could base it around that.

Like that Deal?

Gotta have those oysters again on the BBQ if we do! Hell I'll drive the 5 hour round trip to Stansbury to get them at $5 a dozen!
