FTT event in Victoria

Postby queen9 » Sun Dec 28, 2008 8:42 am

Ok you Vics .. here is your chance. Our S.A. friends have had this topic up from the moment the event finished - so here now, is your chance.

Now that the dust has settled and you have all had time to 'sleep' on it, let us know your thoughts, feelings, good points, bad points, suggestions for the next one, things you liked, things you didn't like ....

Post in this topic and let NPL know your feelings and thoughts so that if there are any issues, they can be ironed out before the next FTT event. Q9

The day ran really well the shoot out was a really good event and who ever made phase 3 as a bonus was givin auto entry to states finals
For people who got knocked out of that we set up a secondary event which played down to the winner getting a deck of cards a card guard and a lighter but the final 8 also auto qualified for state finals

The Teams event was Great and def the highlight of the day
it ran well with the exception of no ropes to hold back the teammates i penalised a couple of teams for coaching but as soon as they realised Adam and I were serious they stopped pretty quickly

We have a few things that we could have made it easier on us to run especially with early knockouts but that didnt effect anyone but us but we overcome that in 2 seconds and got everything 100% right

I would have liked to have seen like a barby which cost 2ftt for a sausage in bread or a hamburger   that would have been good but that wouldn't benifit the Chelsea RSL in any way so i can see why it didn't happen

Next event i hope there is more people there and it will def be bigger and better , and the event after that again ETC ETC .......

I hopefully again will be there with Adam and make this event this Day as good any event we ever ran

I would also love to see a state finals Ran at CHELSEA RSL the public transport to there would suit everyone as the train station is right out the front of the rsl and the area is huge

FANTASTIC DAY AND FANTASTIC EVENT
(is ashame you weren't there to also judge for yourself Rosemary, hopefilly the next one yeah ????)

COME ON GUYS GIVE US YOUR OPINION ON WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE ????????

(also Garth can you please put the poll up the top for everyone to vote on their favorite event like in the SA one... thanx mate)

thanks for the insight Paul, I started this topic at the advise of Scott and the first person that replies is a staff member ... I would like to hear from the players - and especially those who thought nothing of giving ME their opinion on the day ... if they are brave enough to put it in writing here.

I am sure you and Adam did a great job, in fact, I would hardly doubt otherwise for one moment ... now it is time to hear from the players ...even those who didn't go - tell us why not!!!

Bob,

You gotta learn to keep your mouth shut! :D
Now you're going to have to share my oysters with Victorians.

Rosemary,

I am interested to hear from players, thank you for posting this thread.

I am sure there are a lot of negatives that can arise from the FTT;
1.) Prize money was crap.
2.) Too far to drive
3.) Too long a break in between teams and shootout, too long a day.
3.) Too close to Christmas.
4.) Bad timing.

These are all issues I am aware of. I am happy to hear other aspects of the tournament and event that had a negative impact on experiences, but I don't think there is a need to reiterate the above facts.

I am especially interested in thoughts on tournament structure and event participation.

it's a pity it has been a week already and no-one from Victoria has even thought to comment on the FTT event, while S.A. still have not stopped. It is also a pity that it took me, who did not even go (due to prior committments etc) to post the thread to start with.

Come on vics, put your comments forward - especially if they are different to those Garth has already heard - good or bad, let's hear them.

while you're waiting Garth, there is a game on in werribee - 6.30 start. ring me for the address if you're interested. ... otherwise, there are more this week, I will let you know ..... 8-)

Sorry Rosemary,

I would love to head out one day, but Sunday is normally slated for Baseball or gridiron and at the moment I am in lovely WA relaxing by the pool.

I want you to know I don't think you are whinging at all, you do have legitimate complaints and worries. All of which I do take seriously. I just often disagree or put across an alternate theory/opinion.

And you do like oysters? It's a special day when I cook.

seemed to me most everybody had a good day, was great fun working with adam and paul, i had to leave just after the teams event started to go run my normal gig at edwards place coffee lounge, so i feel i missed the "main event", was a lot of posative vibes all day and with a bit of "tweaking" the next one should be bigger, better and more fun than the last one.

Come on Vics, let us know what you all thought.
