i gotta disagree with there is no skill involved till the end

surely a player who can see weakness in there opponents and bets to take down the pot shows some sort of skill

Wow when did this thread pop up??

Ok apart from the allegations, the perceived (and not so perceived) abuse and the constant rehashing of "old" arguments it is a good debate.

Many staff will tell you that over the last two months there was some debate topics bought forward by myself to all of our TD's, one of these topics was off duty TD's playing in tournaments.

This debate tore the group opinions evenly divided down the middle, many contractors felt very strongly that TD's should not be permitted to play in tournaments at all whilst other felt it was their right to play in NPL events under the current guidelines.

I still believe that when it comes to staff playing in events the pros far outweigh the cons.

My primary concern from this thread is that the OP is posting about a TD who was not off duty playing in a tournament they were meant to be running. Now I would like as much information as I possibly can on this matter and I will state that if any TD is found playing in a tournament they are meant to be directing or acting in an unethical manner they will immediately be dismissed. I have already removed several contractors from duty in Vic and SA for such behaviour and will not hesitate to again.

Due to this heavy debate I will forward a few points, in relation to this thread and topic, that have been raised on this matter, by contractors and myself:

1.) All contractors have been spoken to about their behaviour at tournaments, at ll times they represent NPL in those environments and as such must act accordingly.

2.) Any NPL contractor playing in a tournament has more on the line than many players consider, they have their pride and dignity to keep in tact. There is not one TD who i know of that is willing to sit at a table and get eliminated before the break or isn't trying to FT that event.

3.) A code of conduct is being create by Mr Ratnick for all of his staff to sign off on before playing in tournaments in his region, if successful this will be implemented across the board.

4.) Even though this is a public forum please be aware of any comments that can be construed as defamation of character. Especially if they are unfounded or not backed with any irrefutable evidence.

5.) If one complaint is received in regards to a contractor's behaviour and playing style then this matter will be looked into seriously and contractors will be disciplined on a case by case finding.

6.) Any breaches of a NPL code of conduct will result in a minimum of suspension or outright dismissal.

Queen, please keep posting here. Ross, you were trying to make the point that arguments should be constructive, informative and non-whingey, yet you make the point by doing all of the above. Personal attacks are not cool imo.

Yes queen may go on and on and on and on about some things in various threads, but she is new to forum life it seems, and personally attacking someone is not going to help newbies to learn ettiquette etc.

It is fine to disagree with someone, and i was enjoying this debate, until Ross posted. i think you have everyones support on this one queen.
