I definitely want to hear from players more often and listen to their needs, requirements, queries and anything and everything to do with poker and NPL.
What do you think are the best ways to access direct market data?
I don't think surveys or market researchers are really worth it as many people just can't be bothered.
If I attached a survey with the monthly player newsletter and for every survey submitted we gave away a bonus 1000 in chips or some such e coupon, that might work.
What would invigorate you to start submitting your opinions and feelings on NPL. I know many players use this forum but still hold back on their opinions, how do we get them to express their opinions.
Well what do you think?
The "you're the boss" competition didn't get off the ground so we need to look at new angles when debating changes in comp structure and what are players really looking for?

Re: We want your input!
Hey Garth,
One thing I would like to see, and I know this is difficult due to the nature of NPL's relationship with the venues, is a more "regular" Tournament or two. The "Super Turbo" nature of most nights really takes away a hell of a lot of the skill and fun from the game. I know that there is a time limit on night games at all venues (gotta be gone by 11pm etc), but perhaps approaching some of the reg venues about saturday/sunday arvo games with a more relaxed blind structure would be an idea.

A survey, that also includes an open suggestions section, would serve well for those that are on the back foot about expressing their ideas and opinions here.
A good idea for those that want complete anonymity.

Re: We want your input!
Please read first post. Rather than posting numerous suggestions. Which we can do in a separate thread.
The big question Garth is asking,
What would make the majority of players fill out a survey?
I.E Bonus Chips, Maybe a one off tournament. Lucky cash draw? Random entry into state finals? Random Entry into Regional Finals?
For you as a person what would make you want to fill out that survey.

Re: We want your input!
you've got two problems... As scott says, people may want to remain anonymous. How can u reward those people, if u don't know they've replied?
Then, if u get bonus chips, what stops someone handing in numerous surveys with the same, or even different, responses.
Having a spot for players to put their names on, which is detached from the survey may solve the first. Freeroll entry may solve the second. I'd do it for a freeroll

The survey needs to have a pull off tp section as you hand them cards hand them the servey they can put the survey in a box (private) and the tear of top to redeem a bonus of 1000 chips,
I just dont know what to offer for filling it out

Hell, I'll fill out a survey for free
You shouldn't be offering handouts for people to complete the survey - and entry into state finals/regional events seems a little unfair. If players want to offer serious, constructive feedback, they should do so at their own will, not because they get a cookie. Would it be taken anymore seriously because we all get a card protector? I don't think so.

Re: We want your input!
Is there some way David can set up a questionaire on the forum that can be completed Anonymously or doesn't leave it as a post??????
Obviously it doesn't bother me personally otherwise I wouldn't use the forum at all. But as it was said previously some players prefer to stay in the dark.

Re: We want your input!
About the only way to reach all of the players would be to hand out the surveys at rego, or something similar to that.
There's just too much of a 'cbf' attitude if someone has to 'go out of their way' to provide answers to questions. Somehow, complaining isn't too difficult though
There's no need for anyone to put their name on it, and can't see too much of a problem with players just folding it up and putting it in a box or something.
Could maybe do it for one week solid.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
