Favourite Pro?

Postby Chelsea4thewin » Thu Jan 24, 2008 4:17 pm

Hey guys,

just wanted to see which pro you guys like the most? one who u look up to?

Personally i cant go past Mike "the mouth" Matusow, love his trash talk plus he can actually back up his words by playing pretty decent poker. Check out high stakes poker series 2 on youtube for some great matusow trash talk

Daniel Negreanu :D he has a great record & he just seems to have so much fun when he plays & isn't that what it's all about !!! Also the fact he seems to have ESP when it comes to reading players & what they have in there hand  VERY SPOOKY

yeah daniel is a great player, i dont find his reading of players that spooky, ive seen him wrong on many occassion too, he just has a great ability to reconstruct the hand in his head to see what every player did etc then put a player on a hand

I think he appears wrong more often because he says what he is thinking more often.... has a great read.

The best reader in the game is Phil Hellmuth. He is uncanny and there is no denying he is the best NL HE player in the world, apart from the dummy spits or maybe because of them, I love to watch him play. But I have a lot of favourite pro's: Matusow, Mike Sexton, Gus Hansen, Phil Laak, Phil Ivey. All have different styles and use their weapons effectively. And I love to watch them play.
I have to say I do dislike playing against either of the Matusow's online, they both talk and hang shit non stop. But after the game they are extremely nice blokes and always offering insight into hands and what not and they both love talking poker.
In terms of who are the best pro's in my mind: Chip Reese (may he rest in peace), Stu Ungar (another great player who has passed) and John Juanda one of the best and has never been broke in his life, used his initial buy in and built it form there, has never gone broke since, great story to read.

I love watching John Juanda - one of my favourites. Agree with Reese and Ungar.. the former such a nice guy and the latter - such a cowboy.

Phil Hellmuth is an awesome tournament player, he seems to lose patience too much with cash games (such in high stakes poker)

dont u wish u were a pro, definately my dream job

I have plenty of faves, but I reckon I can't go past Gus Hansen. The way he regularly plays somewhat junk hands and outplays his opponents is great to see. His antics with his damn voice recorder are quirky as well.

Andy Black is a pretty funny guy as well, always seems to have a silly grin on his face...
Check out my ample flop....
