Steve, yes I have met him. Have YOU?

benny the cunt, you're obviously having problems grasping this, but it's entirely possible for someone to be fantastic at what they do for a living yet still be a complete jerk.

Just to remind you - I don't recall saying he was a bad tennis player.

I'll happily state I think he was a brilliant tennis player, as Steve put it - a real grinder. I wouldn't even dream of trying to take that away from him. And yes he has indeed done a great deal for Australian tennis.

Doesn't mean I have to like him though!

Put your hand up if you think Ivan Lendl was Mr Personality.... what's that? no hands?

Getting back to discussing Hayden - all jokes aside, it's pretty rough to suggest he's a hack. Although I do suspest Bacon is taking the mickey to try and start debate :P

Clearly he was out of form and it didn't look like improving any time soon. That doesn't mean he was never any good though. It's entirely fair and accurate to say he was a magnificent opening batsman.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

I would be devo'ed if Symonds pulled up stumps, PERSONALLY I believe he still has some good years ahead of him!

Also thinking the Aussie side still needs some older heads on the shoulders of players because now we have so many new players comming in, that there needs to be at least some knowledge.

HOWEVER!!

ok pete, fair enough, you have acknowledged that he is/was a great tennis player, and no you dont have to like him, but your comment that everyone hates lleyton is obviously off.

agreed?

dont think anyone can disagree here. although he was never overrated. he had the ability to become a world number 1, easily, but his attitude would never have made that a possibility. he maxed out at number 8 in the world if i remember rightly, so you cant say he was overrated, but he was definitely full of himself

The poo was indeed a bit of a let down, but that's probably the best nickname ever. I love Roy & HG.

It wasn't Mark Phillipoussis' fault he was over-rated.
Under achiever maybe..? But eh, the world isn't a perfect judge.

Sorry Pete, but that wasn't the best nickname Roy and HG had for him.

The "dangerous floater" is a clear winner :)
