I'm sorta opposed to having naked DSL, with Voice Over IP as your only home phone, if you actually use the home phone (and rely on it).

The power goes out - no phone service.

Ditto
looks like I'm going with Adam's $54.95 Light naked DSL plan which includes Adam Talk and $5 credit to use on 12c local/national calls & 22c per min mobile calls. Beats my current plan with Adam of $39.95 for ADSL2+ with 5GB and Telstra Budget for ~$20.

Wonder if I need to go into a contact or if they'll honour my >2 years with them.

No, different predicament :)

One, your line is down - the other it's not.

Very easy to have an old cord phone around.

They said you wait 10-20 working days from when you request to when you get it active. Usually 10 days

1-2 days downtime while they disconnect old ADSL2+ and connect Naked DSL.

Regarding contract, they don't take into accoubnt your previous time with Adam as setup for Naked from existing member is the same process (more or less) than setting up a new customer.

I want to connect my standard cordless phone to my current ADSL2+ router/modem. I need an ATA (Analogue Telephone Adapter) thingy, does anyone know anything about these? How much, what are good brands/models etc?
