Any one here play poker stars at the 2c 4c limit hold em?
I am sure the cards are fixed.
Every time I get a big hand on the flop (trips with pockets ect) I am outdrawn every single time.
Has any one else had this experience?
And I do mean every single time with out a miss.

Re: Poker Stars Limit Holdem
sorry, but this is the biggest load of crap i have ever heard.
man i hate people that think online sites such as this are rigged against them
why would they? what is the point? what do pokerstars have to gain by rigging the cards?
have you ever thought that its just the fact that you are playing limit holdem, where people at that level dont know how to play properly? i reckon precisely 0% of people would fold their baby flush draw to your set on the turn when it is only 8 cents to see a river.
put it all in perspective and you will see that its not rigged at all

Re: Poker Stars Limit Holdem
Limit is a lot different to No limit.
Especially at micro limits.
NL is measured in Buy Ins, 20-50 BI
FL is measured in Big Blinds. 100-200BB
So if you have a $8 Bankroll, then your within limits. But would still look at a higher level to make it worthwhile.
Other differences. Saving bets, optimum strategy.
So by having trips, people will chase it down with baby flushs. especially when it will only cost them at most 32c for the last two cards. Check raises become more important as well.
If it is a raise fest, then my advice is find a better table.
Sorry one chip, but as benny the cunt said, there is no reason for pokerooms to rig the cards. The rake generated is slowed down when big hands play big hands. Where more rake can be generated by more general hands.

Re: Poker Stars Limit Holdem
poker stars WANT you to keep playing on their site. why would they want people to think their game is anything but fair if they want you to keep playing, and tell your friends to join up also.
im sorry but people who say they always get sucked out on the river (or say that aces always get smashed etc) often play these hands really really badly. im not saying you are one of these people, but to say that pokerstars is rigged is absaloute carp.

Re: Poker Stars Limit Holdem
Do any of you play it?
If not try please and prove me wrong, if you can I will accept it as just bad luck.
In limit you are far more likely to be out drawn obviously (as you cannot bet players out of the hand), but not 100% every single time.
Please prove me wrong with proof and I will be much happier knowing that I do have a realistic chance.
Show me a hand won with pockets that hit on the flop and was not outdrawn.
That is why I asked because I wanted to compare with others experience.

Re: Poker Stars Limit Holdem
ok so your saying that ONLY micro stakes limit holdem is rigged and others arent?
i think thats an even more ridiculous statement.
its called running bad, every player does it from time to time.
EMBRACE THE 7 CENTS VARIANCE!!!

Re: Poker Stars Limit Holdem
Why is everything turned into an argument on here????ok so your saying that ONLY micro stakes limit holdem is rigged and others arent?
i think thats an even more ridiculous statement.
As I stated on my previous post I was just after more information (I cannot claim anything as I do not have proof).
But I can ask and would like to be proven wrong.
Why is that a problem?
Don’t you ever question anything or do you take everything in life at face value?
That is how you learn, you question things everything and anything.
If proven right you learn if proven wrong you learn.
I did not post to argue why would I???
I question if I wrong, but cannot prove it either way.
So I seek more information.
its called running bad, every player does it from time to time.
Thanks I did not know that I just started playing yesterday.

Re: Poker Stars Limit Holdem
Hi OC,
Variance is a wicked beast and we all need to embrace it. I spend the majority of my time on Stars myself and over the last quarter have dropped almost $500 US in just tournament buy ins.
I was running terribly not just getting drawn out when I had the best of it, but just in general, playing god awful poker as well, I was too laggy and had too many leaks.
But the suck outs were really getting to me and sometimes, yes, it does most certainly feel that the stars server and RNG just doesn't like your username and you are going to cop the short end of the stick every time.
In the end I spoke to a couple of online players I know very well, they watched me play a few tournaments and then offered their advice. In the end my new plan of attack was to start with an $80 bank roll and play $6.50 turbo (6 handed or full ring) Single Table SNG's.
I started my campaign on Saturday and by yesterday I had ran my roll up to $450 as well as now sitting on top of the leaderboard for my buy in range with 630 points from a twenty game block. I cashed 18 times out of 20.
What I am trying to say is that yes we all do have runs of bad luck, an with the amount of hands we play online, compared to live, it can feel predominantly that it is "rigged". It is just variance and even though you flop a set you're only still racing against a flush draw on the flop, so you will lose theoretically once in every three times in that situation. Now variance is the thing that states even though this is statistically proven to happen once in three times, even though today it will occur twice in three times and tomorrow it will occur 1.5 times out of three. That is variance as we cannot predict the true nature of events rather we can be guided by probability and statistics.
In the end we all have to look for +EV situations, get our money in good and pray to the poker gods it holds up. Be patient and you will find the neutral run you are looking for, and when you start running hot, look out!!!
As to your request for evidence, I doubt anybody can prove for or against on this matter without a huge amount of data and even then it would only prove if the hand generator was truly random, not exactly rigged.
Just re rad my post need to label it as a brag! Sorry, just happy to be destroying something again. $500 US for twenty good games is a'right

Re: Poker Stars Limit Holdem
in my last 2 tourneys, ($3 buck SNGs on stars) i have been beaten twice with a runner runner straight, once when i was holding middle set, and once when i was holding top and bottom pair.
at the moment, i want to throw my monitor through the wall, but as garth has told me many a time, embrace the variance
if you get your money in good, and you would make the same play knowing what cards you have, and what cards he had, then thats all you can do.

Re: Poker Stars Limit Holdem
lets add 2 more to that in the last 2 hands of this 6 runner SNG
got it all in with AK against AJ on a A66 board, turn 6 and we have to chop.
then next hand i call a short stack's all in with A10 suited, he has A8, and runner runner flushes me.
EMBRACE THE VARIANCE
