Hand advice.

Postby AceLosesKing » Mon Feb 09, 2009 12:42 am

(My final states hand).

You have 20k even. Blinds 7k/14k/1k ante. 8 handed table.

You look down at 89o UTG.

Shoving it in? Why/why not?

I would, for no other reason than I like my 9's and I prefer to choose the hand that destroys me rather than leaving it to luck to decide on my BB. That's just me though.

I can think of worse hands to push with though....

For example:

Jesus mate, all this after I talk you up about how well you played in the first flight...

Just how many times did you snap-call with Ace high on the flop to suck out on later streets?

That's worse than you knocking me out in the teams event at the Cas K10 v K9! At least you called that pre-flop!

8 9o u can do better than that if u hit what have u got mid pair may b a straight y i've even seen a fullhouse hit.
Stuff pot value and thats only if you do manage 2 hit.
Any 2 cards can wìn 4 me UTG fold 89o without a blink. More fun going in blind than hoping 2 hit loser hands.

bruce, answer these questions for me, one by one

1.what are the odds of 89 off winning against another person holding AK off??? in this case you go in with 6BB worth

2.what are the odds of you winning when you hold AA, but because you folded down and only have 2BB, there are 5 callers when you go all in?

3.how much do you win in each case?

4.what is your expected value in each case?

5.what are the chances you get aces compared to any two other cards?

6. what are the differences in fold equity between the first and second cases.
