Why would you call? Who says the money is an issue? If you're on the bubble to a satelitte seat into the WSOP ME and a SS pushes all in, and then the chip leader shoves over the top, why would you call with AA there? Regardless of what either player is holding, the chance for you to be knocked out is there. Its probably smaller when you're holding AA, but its there. And when position 17-1 are valued the same, there is NO point in trying to accumulate more chips. Wait for the SS to be knocked out - the SNG will usually end anyway.
Now, if you're folding down for money... that's different. At the time, Todd may have been short bankroll wise and US 227 could've been the kick he needed. To each their own.
